More GeForce GTX 690 Details Surface

That is a valid point, but I basing my calculations on a 2500k with light overclock, which takes 150w on normal loads. Yes, me taking the HX650w is not really representative of the market, but I am still more than willing to take a trusted 650w to power the GTX590. After all, as long as you don't go crazy and load furmark and LinX at the same time and keep the overclock at good perf/watt a decent 650w can easily power most rigs of today. GTX590 peaks at 350w in gaming tests, giving you more than enough juice for an overclocked CPU. If you are planning to get the 980x at 4.4Ghz, then you should have done your research better and get a more beefy PSU ;)

My point is that these PSU recommendations on graphics cards always leave retard room. As such, this recommendation of 650W puts the GTX690 below the GTX590 in likely power consumption.

Retard premium can be really expensive at times, which is why I always recommend people do do their maths first before recommending/doing something. Plus, retards will generally not upgrade parts of their rig anyways, preferring to go the retarded way of overhauling everything at one shot.

My recommendation of GTX690 able to be powered by a decent 650w is based on the fact that power consumption will, at worst, be equal to GTX590, given the limitations of the 2x8pin (unless they are venturing to almost unheard territories of 2x8pin+1x6pin).

Whether or not it's retarded to upgrade everything at once depends rather on how demanding you are of your system - if you're the kind of person that can get by fine with a five or six year old PC, it often ends up best when you finally upgrade it to upgrade most of it - possibly excepting things like the case and DVD drive. This is another debate, however :P

Looking at how easy it is to find a 680 in stock I can only imagine how nV will flood the market with 690s...

Getting a 590 a few months after release was hard. There was supposed to be an updated 590, supposedly called 595 that never surfaced either. I'd love to put a 690 in my mini-ITX powerhouse, but cost of entry and dwindling supply means I'll probably have to wait for GK110.

Probably the same, 25W here 25W there...
Not a big fan of dual-GPU graphics cards anyway, always favored dedicated SLI\CFX over it.

well of course because there are way more data lanes on the mobo that can be utilized vs the bridge chip on the dual gpu boards. They are a cool idea for those who dont own a dual gpu capable motherboard.

I feel both companies rely too heavily on them to be the top model.

I agree id rather have monolithic designs.

Who buys a dual GPU does not make problems to take a proper PSU !!!

If you can not afford a high quality PSU, do not criticize NVIDIA or AMD for consumption in watts.

I wonder what that absurd comment to make. :shadedshu

What kind of leak is that, everyone with a brain could figure out those "specs" before EXPREVIEW.

Where the hell is the GTX670?
For that matter where the hell are GTX 680's?

Exactly... kind of like a diversion? Don't look behind the Green curtain!

I wonder how they'll package all that stuff; like the bridge, INA219 power monitor chips, that voltage controller that has its own little PCB, and then any of those new traces for dynamic overclocking/TurboBoost. I would think it’s going to get very crowded or even longer?

On the stores being sold to everyone else, except you it seems. Could have bought few hundred of them if had the money and wanted already. And still could...

Ah in Finland maybe but in the USA they dried up like a couple of drops of water in Death Valley in July!
There's none to be had anymore stop the BS!

I don't understand all the fuss about the power supply requirements. The HD6990 recommended power was 750w. GTX690 is 650w and bound to perform better.

we wait for specs now, this card is much anticipated.

Full GTX 680 speeds and shaders? oh boy...
AMD will have to overclock the 7990 to 1000Mhz so it can be competitive with the GTX690, but then, it will consume moar powa.

Though work for amd...:shadedshu

This sounds fast, I will take 2 please :D:rolleyes:

Can't beat my 5970 for $299.00!

Can't beat my Diamond 5970 for $299.00! That black friday deal on the Egg is still "A" number 1. I won't upgrade until I see clear leads by the competitors with a decent price/performance ratio. Until then, my 5970 for $299.00 is still the CHAMPION!

to go with your Q6600 setup?? that would be a bit of a waste (not that im hatin on your rig brah. I know Q6600's are legendary, but they are also very dated)

just one of these cards is probably worth more then your entire rig as it currently stands.

strategically timed to follow that of AMD Radeon HD 7990

Love how they put that little tidbit in there.

Nv will never release their offering before AMD/Ati as always.Chicken shits.
