NVIDIA is poised to launch its high-end GeForce GTX 690 dual-GPU graphics card on the 28th of April, according to a VR-Zone report. NVIDIA has chosen the 2012 NVIDIA GeForce LAN / NVIDIA Gaming Festival (NGF) held in Shanghai, China, as its launchpad. NVIDIA even put up a countdown timer on GeForce.com that counts down to the event. GeForce GTX 690 combines two 28 nm GK104 graphics processors for an SLI-on-a-stick solution. It is gunning for absolute performance leadership, enabling gamers to throw any game, at any resolution at PCs equipped with it.

Awesome 5 Days! Can't wait for when W1zz gets one for review

All I need is two 690s, to play the amazing console ports we have these days

GTX690 before GTX670?

Yields must be really good then, no?

dear nvidia, i wish you the best of luck with the gtx690... it is going to be quite the brawl with the gtx690 vs the hd7990... just check unbiased websites (such as techpowerup.com) for the sli gtx680 and hd7970 crossfire reviews... funny the crossfired 7970(918 up) is now cheaper than the sli gtx680(1000 up if available) check newegg.com...:toast:

back december it was rumoured that the 7990 was going to be 850.. seems doubtful thou. but if the gtx690 was 800... game over. not much chance seeing how the gtx680 does not have great availability.

If it's going to be an expensive part I don't see them making a huge amount. But it might well explain why there have been no 670's. Harvesting them for this card.

Looks like they wanted to deny AMD any bragging rights with a 7990.

Very very curious about pricing. If 680's don't go down it'll need to be $1000 or about ÂŁ800, otherwise you just buy 2 680's.

If this is going to have 4GB of vram (2 per GPU) then I'm going to call this a fail even before it's launched.

If I am going to buy a GTX 690 (or two) it means I want to play at least on 2560x1600p and 2GB per GPU is not enough, probably Nvidia will cheap on Vram and Vrm like on the GTX 590, screwing high res gaming and overclocking.

Don't get me wrong, I like Nvidia but I can't really undestand why they miss on such critical points.

wow cant wait to see the monster

I'm betting it will get a higher score than 7.0:D

awaiting for some easter eggs so that I can get me one of them nifty gif avvys hehe

GTX 670 would outsell even GTX 680 (since it's cheaper). So the inference is that the yields aren't "really good". NV just wants to establish a total performance lead, which will be nice marketing.

I also have the feeling that the older SKUs are still selling well, like the GTX 560ti and GTX 570, probably even the out of production GTX 580 is selling very well with the latest price cuts.

Man, can you imagine if it was possible to Quad-SLI 4 of these monsters in a tower? Sweet baby Jesus!!! :D

Would be boss, 4K$ down the hole :D 4 of these for folding could be used in order to yield massive PPD, provided you could power all of them at full load.

yields?

where are they getting the chips from lol. if they are releasing the 690 before even having a healthy stock of 680s thats a bit interesting.

Most likely around 1000$ US each.

no its not. Im estimating 699 to 750

They better not be cheap with the vram on a card like this or it will come back to bite them...

I haz confuse..makes no sense ot me to announce 690 when 680 is not available for purchase yet, in many places worldwide.

Who knows? I mean, they don't seem to be going into a GTX670 launch? I do not understand what's going on here at all.

Maybe they have been stocking up on the GTX 680 chips so they can come out with lots of 690's :D
