Basically they halved Kepler Cuda's core size and made two smaller core do the work of one Fermi, while curtailing the transistor count comparatively (+17% 3000 mil vs. 3540), indicating a huge reporting of Cuda Core thus improving efficacy in each smaller Cuda.
