EVGA has released a utility that allows the "GeForce GTX" logo on the side of the EVGA GeForce GTX 690 to be customized. Users can manually increase/decrease the brightness, or, when paired with EVGA Precision X, have the LED light increase/decrease based on GPU Utilization, GPU Clock or even Frame Rate! Please note this application is only compatible with the EVGA GeForce GTX 690.

I don't think there's any demand for this card now given the strength of 670 sli.

Hmm, £900 for a 690 or £700 for 670 sli.....

But
if i can make the LED's dimmer or brighter, hell, I might just open that wallet.....

I'm guessing LED control is built into the reference 690s. I just don't get why they'd of gone with anything more complex than on/off, or rather why they'd do it and not make it officially part of the CP.

IMO they should have charged for a "special LED controlled GTX690". 1100$ MSRP would be great since the GTX690 is such a cheap graphics card.

I wish instead of only green colour either EVGA or some modder should come with customizable colours.

In my opinion it should have used white LEDs to start with...you know...to match the rest of the card...

ridicules......a 1000 quid lightshow...
Ohh wait .... You can score girls with this ......:wtf:

Yes, technically, the LED is a "fan" to the driver. It is wired to a secondary 2-pin 12V fan connection, which happens to have voltage-based control over software (the card's real fan is wired to a 4-pin PWM connection). What this utility basically does is play with that voltage, to adjust the brightness of the LED.

The utility needs to be REWRITTEN. It is off all the time EXCEPT when visiting tpu.com. Then there is a light show spectacle. GPUz here we come... ;)

but i am unable to get any evga gtx 690 below 1450$

exclusivity of the exclusive thing.. sigh. i thought it would be a common feature!

omg you can adjust the brightness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd prefer no LEDs at all. Hell, I'd pay more for the version without them.
