If I used this with my D-Tek FuZion v2 cpu block, would it help cool an intel 3570k better than just without one? Since it worked for the Core 2 Duo series, would it focus the cooling power better on the smaller processor?

technically, the 3570K is larger physically than Core2 Duos were.

I got good results with my accelerator kit way back when, so for what it costs, couldn't hurt to give 'em a try...

really its larger? I thought it would be smaller since the manufacturing process is 22nm

smaller process, but more functionality, including the addition of the IGP and PCIe controller. IF the CPU core was alone, then yes, would probably be smaller. It's not as wide as core2duo, but it is longer than core2duo was/is.

sorry i may have made this a little confusing, i should have been comapring the 3570k to the core 2 quad series not the core 2 duo because of their core sizes correct?

yeah, kinda. ;) teh quad's were dual-die CPUs. and yeah, I'd use the C2Q accelerator, but I'd make sure that the orientation is such that it'd be turned 90 degress to how it would be if on a C2Q chip, because of how the dies are arranged differently.

I'm not sure how the mid-peice would affect teh middle part of the die though, as those accelerator inserts for the C2Q were designed with the dual-die package in mind.

Would be some interesting testing, for sure, if you do do this, please post up your results as you try things out!!!
