Windows Vista Ultimate extras exposed

What, so they can learn to hack together an OS from 1000's a pieces of hastily written code from inexperienced programmers. Each "flavor", usually being incompatible with the 200 other versions of the same thing. The best part is, that one person has control, of all changes to the final kernel release.

How many hardware vendors do you know, that want to release open source version of their drivers?

Linux has purposes, but taking over Windows is not one of them. It has some excellent applications in the server market, but even then I'd go elsewhere.

Thats a scary sad idea... But I don't think microsofts programing team could even understand the source code for a linux os. They would look at it and just kinda go huh?!?!?!?:ohwell:

You must be joking. One of the most powerful companies on the planet, that's right - they must have teams of chimps. Making billions and billions of dollars.

Or more people could learn how to really use a computer... And actually compile their own version of linux...
Oh give me a break, learning how to "really" use a computer has absolutey NOTHING to do with knowing how to compile your own version of Linux. Why the hell should anyone have to do that, the OS is supposed to be a transparent interface to hardware - something no one should ever have to think about. I guess we should all have to build our own cars from the ground up, build our own houses from ground up - might as well go back to farming for ourselves too.

So, show me your own version of Linux that you've compiled. Is it Niko Linux?

well they have released a tester of their background video thing... its crap and full of errors... lol

That's quite enough, Overcast, I've lost count of how many times me and other moderators have told you to stop trolling.

i found some extras on my frnds pc, they are-
Hold EM up poker game, Bit locker, and Windows Dreamscene. Any1 got any clue ?

Dreamscene allows you to use a looped movie clip as your desktop backround, instead of just a picture.

cool, even avi ones ?

I don't really know for sure, but I'm guessing no. MS usually forces people into using .wmv for things of this nature.

nice, looks like Ultimate comes with lots of gifts. :D
I'll get the Ultimate myself after some MONTHS when Home Premium will become more common, and some stable drivers ;)

gifts......its 400bucks, it should come with a brick of gold and a letter of appology
