Colorful released pictures of its new Shark Bionic graphics card cooling solution, which will feature on the company's upcoming GeForce GTX 670 iGame Ares X graphics card. The designers seem to have opted for a more conventional-looking dual-slot cooling solution (judging by its standards, at least). The Shark Bionic cooler uses a compound heatsink design. At a nickel-plated copper GPU base, nine 8 mm-thick heat pipes of the same material make indirect contact with the GPU. The heat pipes then transport heat to three aluminum fin stacks, one directly over the GPU base, one over the VRM area, and a smaller one along the top of the card. The three are ventilated by two 80 mm fans. The design of the cooler shroud and fan blades are inspired by the shark, which work to guide the most amount of air with the least turbulence (resulting in less noise).

Looks more like a boat.

Anyone else touch their heatsinks just to feel the heat and feel good about it?

Just keep it simple to keep the prices down. Use Arctic Cooling S1 as a model and make it in various different sizes.

I strongly believe that this cooler needs more heatpipes.

I think VGA cooling must use more standard fan options and when a fan of it dies you are not fckd and can easily change it. Not use these stupid fan frames with some small fans on it. Like Gelid Icy Vision - you can easily attach 92mm fans on it if you have fan braces for it. And perhaps use low profile 92mm fans - but if you have the space and the feel - to use standard profile fans and get real nice cooling - and if you get decent fans you get silence too. But now you get what they give you and without heavy modification you cannot use the heatsink of the card. Like modern CPU coolers - mount frames or braces for standard sized fans and you are free to choose faster and noisy or slower and silent fans. Options - we need more options in short.

I really like colorful.....PLEASE come to the States Colorful.....these guys really push the envelope and care about enthusiasts!!!!

Oh colorful... you attention whore :D
Keep coming with more weird cards that no one here will probably buy. I get the feeling that all you want really is to people to know that you even exist, In my honest opinion.
Well, at least TPU is helping you with that i guess...

If the good members of TPU will fund my trip back to Hong Kong, I will be sure to pick up a small shipment of cards with these coolers on them ;););)

though, dealing with customs is going to be hard but since im going to be in H.K anyway i might aswell ship it from there to avoid being charged a hefty amount by customs.

looks like a futuristic spaceship

I strongly believe that this cooler needs more heatpipes.

LOL LOL LOL....that is exactly what I thought when I read 9 fucking heatpipes...if this thing isn't the coolest running gtx 670 out there then I know there is a serious flaw in the design simply by the sheer metal involved in its' making,

Hey wiz...can you get one of these to review????

On a separate note everyone disses these guys designs, looking back at the former implementations I think they scream "overclocking enthusiast" and I'll bet the cards are fantastic wish they sold in U.S.!

The colour scheme reminds me of the mass effect spaceship.

reminds me of the powercolor product with a different color theme.. cant recall what its called tho

Um wat? There was definitely something wrong with your card and/or heatsink then.

He has a shorting issue with the card or motherboard or case. Course its not good to touch any circuit that is hot anyway
