Matias Releases World's Quietest Mechanical Keyboard

In for one after I see an actual review or youtube comparing the sound.

I am on a laptop right now at work that has the Fn Key where the CTRL belongs and it ruins my life. It also makes the F1F2F2etc (function keys) NEED to press the FN key in order to work... I have to press Fn > Alt > F4, Fn > F5 etc to do things. Drives me nuuuuuuuuuuuts

150$ for a lousy keyboard??? LOL

Give me flat mechanical and i'm sold. I don't like these tall keys...

I bought mine for the noise, i guess im not the target market

So they have developed their own key switches, be keen to find out how this compares to traditional cherry MX/other mechanical switches regarding feel, feedback and performance.

On a different note, does anyone know of any mechanical backlit keyboards? been wanting a mechanical one for a while though I need it to be backlit as it's my gaming PC which I spend most of my time on in low light

absolutely. Deck, Das Keyboard, lots make em, new Rosewill's are backlit too.

do not forget ducky keyboards as well.

and Corsair, and CoolerMaster, and Thermaltake....etc.

Just got mine today :toast:

Lousy? This is probably one of the better keyboards on the market right now!

But does one really need a $150 keyboard? Mechanical Keyboards accomplish little more than sounding like god damn typewriters (typing on one now at work >.<)...

Well my uncle has a Northgate mech keyboard from 1983 that still functions and he's even worn through the side of one of his ctrl keycaps. If the freaking plastic of the keycaps is physically wearing away before the switches or circuitry of these keyboards then it goes to show just how much better it is in terms of quality alone to buy a $150 keyboard. The Matias brand has a pretty exciting product and I only hope they'll be able to improve on it and lower the cost.
