Japanese company Abee announced four new cube-shaped cases of various sizes, which are designed to make it easier to space out hardware, and install space-hungry optional components such as water-cooling. Perfectly cubical, the series includes RC04 and RC04G designed for mini-ITX motherboards; RC07 and RC07G for micro-ATX/mini-ITX motherboards.

The RC04 series measures 240 x 240 x 240 mm, made with aluminum alloy framework (chassis), and brushed aluminum panels. The RC04 is available in black and silver, while the RC04G features additional color options and a better "shiny" (chrome) finish, available in silver, carbon-black, and brown. It packs room for graphics cards as long as 190 mm. and low-profile CPU coolers (no more than 55 mm tall). There's just enough room for a compact ATX PSU (which can make room for two more 3.5-inch bays), a 3.5-inch HDD, and 2.5-inch HDD/SSD (two separate bays), and a 5.25-inch bay (which can make room for two more 3.5-inch bays.

Moving on , the RC07 is a bigger case, measuring 300 x 300 x 300 mm, with the same color options between the base model and the shiny RC07G. It can seat micro-ATX motherboards, graphics cards as long as 240 mm, CPU coolers as tall as 115 mm, and features a flexible drive tray that supports one 5.25-inch bay, up to six 2.5-inch bays (eating into 3.5-inch bays), up to three 3.5-inch bays, and a combination of two 3.5-inch with two 2.5-inch bays. Ventilation includes a 120 mm front intake, an 92 mm rear exhaust, and two 60 mm rear exhausts.

Slated for November 02, the RC04, RC04G, RC07, and RC07G are priced at 29,980¥ ($376), 30,980¥ ($388), 34,980¥ ($439), and 35,980¥ ($451), respectively.

Resistance is futile.

I was thinking about how cool it would be to get one. I then saw the price and died of a heart attack.

looks like a silverstone case, well at least the buckles are exact copy.

How does air get into that case? :)

How does air get into that case? :)

it doesn't, the case creates a mini blackhole in there that sucks all the heat into outer-space!!

I bet there is a series of intake grills along the bottom front below the fan, similar to a lot of other cases without direct front openings which have intake slots on the side near the front. (A number of Lian-Li cases, Fractal Design cases, Antec P180 and successors.)

What I wonder is how you're meant to use the 5.25 drive bay for optical drives if there is no opening for it? Some of their other case have optical drive stealth covers which is the obvious answer, I just can't see any in the front panels pictured.

Japanese keep all the best stuff for themselves though :(

Most likely just a gap on the underside as you mentioned...

It's simple, every time you want to use the optical drive, you open the front panel of the case. It's hinged and it looks like it has some of those push latches for quick removal. ;)

Yeah I see the hinges but that seems like more of a kludge than their their other cases with stealth doors.

Makes Lian-Li look like bargain basement cases :|

Too expensive. I'd rather get into modding and make something similar.

Very nice.

Now make one with glass sides/top :)

OH MUH GUSH!

DO WANT!

I need this!

When and where can I buy this in the US!?!?!?!??!?!?!

Looks neat, but I see fans, drive bays, psu and mobo connectors all facing solid metal plates.

Not sure how that's going to work, unless you have to cut the sides yourself?

That might explain ventilation, but what about network, video, psu, etc. cords? Intake grill will not be big enough for those.

The back is open, that plate is the top (hinged). Still not a lot of venting, but could handle a fairly decent system.

I'd rather use a cardboard case and build a better computer.
