Newlaunches.com has pictured the configurator for Art Lebedev's Optimus-103 keyboard. The Optimus is supposed to be a revolutionary keyboard, in that each key will have its own LCD, which will then be configurable through software. There will be endless possibilities, you will be able to fully customize the characters on the keyboard to the current software you are using.

The keyboard has been in development for quite a long time, and hopefully this is a sign that it will be available for purchase soon.

I'm not gonna lie.... that looks like a huge waste of money to me.... though i do like the idea that you can customize your keyboard a little more. Qwerty keyboards are actually designed to slow the typer down. If you do customize the letters on your keyboard though it will be harder for you to use regular keyboards.

Me too, but you can bet its gonna cost what an 8800GTX costs or more!

the rumor is that this keyboard will retail for about 1,200 Dollars (USD)....

i would like to have that keyboard..just for its sleekness and customization ..but no not for 1,200 dollars :banghead:

I recall at one time that the customizable keys would only come in black and white. Did this change?

yeah it changed now it has lcd screens in them ,(full color i think 16bit color) so thats another reason the price is so much :P

*strokes £5 keyboard*

I reserved mine.

Along with my copy of duke nukem.

seriously, this thing's equiv to duke nukem.

I remember reading about that thing like in 7th grade or something. I almost have my AA now....

It sounds neat, but ridiculous.

maybe have one key display cpu temp, another gpu temp, memory usage, etc....that would be neat...if you cant afford that keyboard, be happy with a g15 ;)
