Cooler Master launched the K380 value gaming chassis, the first of many K-series cases which feature a hint of HAF DNA. The ATX mid-tower measures 209 x 479 x 445 mm (WxDxH), weighing about 4.7 kg, and is made of SECC steel and matte-black ABS plastic, in addition to its large acrylic side-panel window. Its storage area includes three 5.25-inch drive bays, two exposed and five discrete 3.5-inch bays, a 3.5-to-2x 2.5 adapter comes included. Ventilation includes a red LED-lit 120 mm front intake fan, a 120 mm rear exhaust, a 120 mm side-panel fan, and one each on the top and bottom. Its front-panel features a space to put your smartphone (it isn't a drive-dock), one each of USB 3.0 (by cable) and USB 2.0/1.1 ports (by header), and HD audio front-panel jacks. Expect this one to go for around $80.

What HS and fan is that? The M4?

I see nothing that makes it a "Gaming Chassis". But i guess people have a what is and is not a Gaming Chassis.

At least the bottom fan intake location has some sort of filter on it (as well as the tiny PSU intake). The new Scout 2 only has the PSU filter - the bottom fan has mounts for a filter but doesn't come with one. Go figure...

BTW - I hate single USB ports. Go with a dual USB 3.0, not one each of USB 2.0 & 3.0.

The worst part is the USB 3.0 doesn't use header, it uses a fugly blue cable that runs to the back.

I gotta say 90% of PC cases are really ugly.

i'll leave cases to the pro's .... my corsair 650D is a beaute to look at, this crap is for children, getting real tired of it flooding the market too

If it has weird lines/design and a front made mostly of plastic it's a "Gaming Chassis"... ;)

This makes me glad I have just a generic black box. If I had to look at that every day I'd pick my eyes out with a fondue fork.

And that's not good. Digging in your eye-sockets with a fondue fork is strictly considered to be bad for your health, and seven out of nine optometrists are dead set against the practice.

The fuck's happened to all the case designers? CM has always been on the cheesier side of cases, but between this, Antec and Silverstone I'm starting to think there's a conspiracy or something.

I have to give credit, when credit is due and in favour of reality, I can't help, but think this is pocket knowledge (e.t one with no real proof). CM has been making cooling equipment for over 20 years. I am not defending them or something, but the reality is that they successfully expanded from OEM to their own brands in cooling in any direction- cases, AIOs, etc.. This case, might not be on par with the others for you, but saying they are not "pros" is so not true.(690/II/Advanced/Storm/Scout/Cosmos/HAF etc..etc..)
Yeah it looks a bit chunky and manly, but so does Cougar's orange solar collector monstrosity. What bothers me is not the front grill, but the features it packs for 80 bucks. Seem very few compared with other cases in that range.

this looks really bad. its like someone took a haf x and accidentally put it in a crusher, but was able to salvage it midway!

There doesn’t seem to be any mounting holes for a fan at the top blowhole. What’s the point in that,…?

I agree that its an ugly case, I’ve probably come across more attractive cases at a yard sale,……for ~$1. I didn’t much care for the haf series cases esthetics either.

I wonder why the GPU power cables aren't in..... Maybe because they can't fit them. The case looks really thin.

Of course, 650D is all timer for this...
I don't know like I look case from late 2005 and eary 2006...
Can't compare CORSAIR and COOLERMASTER cases. CORSAIR is higher class,
Silverstone make better cases than CM too.
Sometimes I think I can EASY change their case designers and make 20% more profit at least.
Only cases a like from CM is 690 Advanced and Cosmos Pure.
Cosmos Pure with modification for cables and window side panel can't look excellent and some other modification inside.
