That would be sweet if they go for a retro look like the old 64s:rockout: . Wonder what hardware they'll use.

Oh lord, not again? The Commodore brand returns to the world every few years, it's been made love to against it's will by a hand full of companies already like Tulip, Gateway and Escom. And considering Tulip is Dutch that's pretty nasty.
Anyway, I don't want to see any Commodore branded products.

The Company Commodore has nothing to do with this, it's just the brandname that they're using to make you think it's a Commodore.
Commodore went bankrupt over 10 years ago.

If the new commodore is based on a "Wii-next" design... they may have a winner.

1./ Fun of Wii - with upgraded GPU

2./ Phone + chat

3./ Internet + email

4./ Media streaming and store

5./ Hackability (modability)

win-win

if i wanted a pc masquerading under one of the old greats names (its not actually a commodore , see danthebanjoman's post) id at least want it to be a sinclair or amstrad (not that i dislike commodore, i had an amiga), just that the name commodore screams beige to me, and the p.c. industry has only just got over that whole lada coloured thing

They are coming! Oh noes!

I have an Amiga 2000.....it says Commodore on it somewhere. By gaming computer to they just mean a prebuilt PC with gaming specs? Or some weird ass computer that only plays games?

The Company Commodore has nothing to do with this, it's just the brandname that they're using to make you think it's a Commodore.
Commodore went bankrupt over 10 years ago.

exectly, its like atari, the name was sold to infogramers, and then raped for all its been worth, atari the company was a GREAT company, made good products, but they SUCKED ASS at marketing, my buddys got 2 lynx handhelds, they KILL the gamegear and gameboy and even nomad, and where about 1/2-1/3 the price of a gamegear and came with 4 games.
the jagwar64 was a nice unit, he also has every game every made for that(and every game made for the lynx as well) some of the games sucked, like the one that came with the unit, but how uncommon is that? early titles tend to be blah at best lol.

this will probbly suck arse just like the past attempts did.

what i would like to see is a company come out with a new Amega branded system that was small, fast, diverce, and powerfull enought to game well, oh yeah and was a decent price.
This could be done with stuff avalable today, cheap amd cpu+690/695 chipset board+2gb ram(256mb cut out for videocard use) would be plenty for most TV users( yes it would need to support dirrect TV connection like the old amiga's did.) wouldnt be the best possable setup but they could make it so you could upgrade the gfx with an addin unit, as they did with the amiga i had( it was stolen......damn i hate my ex) you could upgrade gfx, memory, sound, the works, it was a great little unit and not to over priced even when it was new, amiga died because comodor SUCKED AT MARKETING they marketed the amiga as a gaming system, when really it was a great PC, allaround pc not just games, i know of a few companys who still run them for gfx work(yes even now......many years after the company died)

dan i gotta gree tho, this is gonna suck, as the past attempts at comodor/amiga revivals have.

sad really :(
