Intel's performance-segment mSATA SSDs, the SSD 525 series, started selling in Japan under OEM packaging, although freely available in ground stores (much like bare hard drives). Based on the LSI-SandForce SF-2281 processor and Intel's own 25 nm MLC NAND flash chips, the SSD 525 is available in four capacities: 30 GB, 120 GB, 180 GB, and 240 GB. The 240 GB variant stands out, with speeds of up to 550 MB/s reads with 500 MB/s writes; while the others max out at 500 MB/s reads with 275 MB/s writes. The 30, 120, 180, and 240 GB variants are priced at 5,180¥ ($57), 14,480¥ ($160), 20,800¥ ($228), and 26,980¥ ($295), respectively.

not bad not bad..... ill be picking up a 525 SSD sometime in the near future when at least a 256 is affordable for my ultrabook

240Gb version is a little expensive, but it shall work well with the Maximus V Formula build that I am currently doing for a client. Cant wait to get hands on one.

I'd still rather get a Samsung 840 Pro... still, market might change by mid-to-late this year, looking forward to a fast SSD powered AMD Kaveri occasional-gaming laptop or a Haswell/discrete GPU mostly-gaming one, when I can scrap the cash.

You are better off going with a good SATA II drive. Less expensive and the mSATA on the Maximus V is only SATA II.

SATA 3 bandwidth limitations makes these drives seem worthless as an upgrade if you already have a SATA 3 SSD.

goood...........
