Corsair, a worldwide designer of high-performance PC gaming peripherals, today announced the Vengeance K70 fully mechanical gaming keyboard. The new Vengeance K70 gaming keyboard is built on a rugged, brushed, aluminum chassis and features highly responsive Cherry MX Red mechanical switches under every key. The high performance switches combined with the keyboard's 100% anti-ghosted matrix, 20-key rollover and 1000Hz reporting rate provide fast, accurate input for gaming.

The Vengeance K70 gaming keyboards are available in two color schemes: silver aluminum with blue backlighting, and anodized black with deep red backlighting. Overall backlighting can be adjusted to four levels of intensity and each key is individually backlit, enabling the lighting for each key to be independently enabled or disabled. The key-by-key lighting customization allows users to highlight just the keys they need to emphasize and then save the setting directly to the K70's onboard memory. In addition, the Vengeance K70 comes with alternate colored, contoured keycaps for the WASD and 1-6 keycaps to allow additional customization.

"When we launched the Vengeance K60, customers loved the look and quality, but some wanted a backlit version," said Ruben Mookerjee, VP and General Manager of the Peripherals Business Unit at Corsair. "In typical Corsair fashion, we over-delivered and created Vengeance K70 with key-by-key backlighting, mechanical switches on every key, and two color schemes."

The Vengeance K70 also features dedicated multimedia controls to allow users to play, stop, pause, skip tracks and adjust volume. An extra USB connector is provided for attaching to USB devices such as a Vengeance gaming mouse or headset. A removeable soft-touch wrist rest provides comfort for long gaming or typing sessions.

The Vengeance K70 keyboard will make its public debut at Corsair's booth at PAX East in Boston from March 22-24. Corsair is located in booth 1062.

Pricing and Availability
The Corsair Vengeance K70 will be available in April at suggested price of $129.99. For more information, visit the product page.

Now why didnt they come out with this the first time.
All black with red led and no macros.
Already have my CM Storm Trigger. We'll see if it will be replaced.

Looks like roccat has some competition, not much but this is similar to their upcoming keyboard.

Either this or the K95 (yet to be released)... It's all gonna depend on how much the K95 is gonna cost. It looks like the only difference will be the macro keys.

I personally like the K70 better. I do not use macro keys and so there would be no use to own the K95 (nice looking keyboard though:)).
I have been looking for a mechanical keyboard to replace my Razer Lycosa and this may be the one...

this looks so sexy,

Good work corsair. Announce the keyboard I've been waiting for since the K90 was released right after I buy a Quickfire TK.

I might need two keyboards now...

the backlight is fugly. I like the physichal media keys though. Anyway, I'm sticking with my mionix zibal...

This is the keyboard I was expecting for Corsair.
Full mechanical, backlited, no macros and nice look.

They are too late, now I have a Gigabyte Osmium.

I am going to buy the s%&t out of the Black/Red Backlit keyboard. Have been waiting to replace my slowly dying Logitech G15 but haven't had a decent product to replace it with yet.

Fingers crossed its as awesome as I hope it to be!

Heh...finally come out with what I wanted after I bought the TT Challenger Ultimate. Ahh...oh well...I paid half price so I can't complain much. Just wish Corsair would have brought this out awhile ago. Kinda similar on their mice. I'm still not satisfied with their design and the ones I like don't have weights. Course everyone is like that atm.

dayummmm! that thing looks nice. i always prefer mech myself

Would've definitely bought the black one if it had a white backlight (no, I have no interest in taking up space with the unnecessary macros of the K95), I could still be tempted by the silver though, depending on the UK price.

So this was that "K65" back at CES 2013 that Corsair didn't want to talk about. Odd that they're doing this separate from the K95.

When they gonna made it with rgb backlight and blue/brown switches?!

There aren't any RGB/colour-changing LEDs for mechanical keyboards. Currently, we can't fit three LEDs under a mechanical switch. People are working on it though.

I was excited to see this, until I read that it has red cherry mx keys.
I could see their reason for using red on K60 and K90 as it was intended for gaming. But this? Virtually no dedicated macro keys. Might as well offer the other keys (blue/brown) as an alternative.
I personally doesn't feel comfortable typing on a red keys. Too light for my taste.

Now if they could only get Logitech to put an LCD on it for them I'd buy it instantly.

They should have put RGB LEDs in both. I really want that black one, but I really don't want red LEDs since every other thing in my setup has blue LEDs :slap:

Screw these cherry MX reds. I want browns!

I agree cherry mx browns would have been perfect, I guess I should look at ducky instead/

I have an mx red kb as well.. too light and dainty for my taste. I also wish it had microphone jack..

Are there any mechanical keyboards with RGB LEDs? I did a search for such a while back and couldn't find any. The answer I found was that we can currently put two LEDs under a key, but three is not feasible yet.

And wow... so many people wanting Blues and Browns. Of the five major Cherry MX types, Red is the second most difficult to find in Western markets (only Cherry MX Clear is more rare). Considering no one has lamented about their desire that this would have used Blacks, I'm guessing that while there are many Blue/Brown keyboards, there's a lack of quality, feature-packed Blue/Brown keyboards.
