Clevo D900C - The World's Fastest Notebook

Clevo is a notebook maker based in Taiwan that's in the business of cranking out gaming laptops that often get rebadged by companies such as Alienware, Sager and VoodooPC. The new Clevo D900c model turns easily into the world's fastest notebook with the help of Intel Core 2 Duo/Extreme X6800, Intel P965 motherboard, 2x NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX 512MB in SLI, 17-inch WXGA (1680 x 1050) or WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display, up to 4GB RAM, up to 3 HDD's in RAID configuration and 2-bay optical drive support. There're also all kinds of extras, like integrated TV Tuner, 1.3MP Web Cam, 7-in-1 Card Reader and Bluetooth support. To power all of this the D900c will need a whopping 280W power supply unit. The laptop has a battery, but Clevo doesn't mention what the battery life would be. The Clevo D900c is going to be sold by Sager as the NP9260 with a price tag of around $2,700. Availability should be in the late April to early May time frame. Other manufacturers like Pro-Star and likely Alienware will also take the D900C and rebadge it as their own. The Clevo D900C should appear at CeBIT in Hannover Germany this week.

I certainly wouldn't play with that on my lap, you'll eventually burn your legs and probably end up sterile.

And batteries, I bet they only last about 5 minutes whilst playing a game.

Hmmm... Well, technically you could move it around easy. Easier than a desktop anyway. So I guess if you're a guy who just wants a gaming PC but is on the move a lot, this might be a good option. However, if you want it for business and need access to it when you're in a cab or whatever, this just wouldn't make good business sense...

I highly doubt a businessman would use that notebook demon. They'r better off with some ULV CPU notebooks, or at least something with a battery life of 4hrs+.

This is basically a "PC" for LANs. Even smaller than a Shuttle + Monitor. Although you can probably upgrade a Shuttle easier than that one

they keep it cool with a portable mini tank of liquid nitrogen :toast:

and since the notebook costs an arm and a leg, they give you two free arms and to free leggs wooooo, only after rebates ofcoarse :roll:

if you can afford to buy that,you would have a kick ass desktop too,so i guess its a rich mans lan machine only.it would be on a desk at a lan so it dont amtter so much about heat and no burnt goolies.
