CeBIT: Sparkle Shows Self-Designed Graphics Cards

At CeBIT, Sparkle showed several unique self-designed cards, apart from the well known Calibre P880+ GeForce 8800 GTX cooled by TEC active cooler system from MACS Technology. VR-Zone has pictures of a very interesting graphics card, the self-designed Sparkle GeForce 8800 GTS without any additional power connectors? VR-Zone informs us that Sparkle will have their own self-designed G84 and G86 cards with better cooling solutions which will increase overclockability of the cards by 10-15%. There is also another interesting technology created by Sparkle where a small PCB is inserted into the graphics card with POST LEDs and a reset button. It allows voltages adjustment and temperature management through software. This concept will be available for upcoming Sparkle DX10 cards.

what comes to minds immediatelly when looking at those pictures is how they managed to stick such a ridiculously downsized heatspreader on this "prototype". The HS might be made of pure copper, still it remains 2-3 times smaller than our typical high-end leafblowers !

that just cant be an 8800, theres simply not enough on the board, and the cooler is too low to the board, unless sparkle have removed the heatspreader from the core, the ram layout looks too simple too, unless theres ram chips on both sides of the board.

Plus that article on vr-zone dosent specifically say its that card, it mentions 8800's with no power connector, then mentions g84-g86 boards, then mentions that led readout

In any case, ive been trying to find the Calibre 8800 GTX with TEC cooling for a while now, and there are NO stores selling it.

This is the size of a card back from... 2000?

Amazing how times have changed. I looked at it and saw a "normal" video card.

At last some genuine initiative and originality from a manufacturer. Graphics were getting to rediculous PCB sizes and astronomical power requirements, well done Sparkle.

These are awesome looking boards. Kudos to Sparkle for coming along with some nice ingenuity and designs. I love the TEC cooler and the fact that they make one without some parts and it increases overclockabilty up to 15% is amazing. Id be willing to switch to an Nvidia card just for these

yer, its all good if you can squish ur head to the size of an ordinary house hold sponge & slide under the card like some kind of amphibious creature

The LEDs will be facing towards the side of the case, so if you have a window all you need to do is look in.

This little sparkel card looks really interesting to me, but I hate these "tec-cooler cards". I hope they won't be to expensiv.

my bad, mis looked at that picture. saw the SLI connector & didn't think that thats no PCI-E connection!

the led is facing the opposite way & ur right. it'll be facing the side of the case.
