Finally a date appeared at the internet on that the huge launch of AMD/ATI's latest chip, the R600 will take place. And it won't happen anywhere near you I guess because someone decided to let all this happen in the capital of the North African state Tunisia, Tunis. The reason for that is unknown but I guess it makes it very hard for a potential thief to get away with one of the most sought-after graphics card in the world today. Either you have to swim right through the Mediterranean Sea or you end dried up to the bones in the Sahara Desert.
Anyway, TheInquirer still insists that the mass production of the R600 will be in 65nm whereas the GDDR3-cards at the launch were made using a 80nm process.

Note by W1zzard: This will not be the launch date. At this date the NDA press briefings are scheduled, which will be before the launch so press has time to prepare their articles.

I think this is just some INQ bs lol.

Be disappointing if it were true. But if its 65nm woohoo and if its not, even more woohoo!

it's true .. got my invitation yesterday :P

mmmmm will you take pics????

probably .. but probably not allowed to post before the official launch. If i have extra time i will do private vacation pics of the landscape and stuff

Why can't they do this sort of thing ina popular country/continent?! Like EU and US... rather have it in some obscure location that only a select few can attend without going on flights...

I think Tunisia bought a lot of the one child laptops[ AMD CPU], may have something to do with it:confused: Just an off the top of my head guess.
Wizz do you think they'll let you mess with it and run some benches or is it a look don't touch deal?

Oh W1zzard I hope you get to run benches.

Public distribution may be disallowed but what about a random imageshack account? A imageshack based slideshow sent to some members would be awesome!

Let's hope he tells us the real scores as first person in the world :respect:

i wont .. as everybody else i will have to sign and nda and follow it

does stuff include topless beach babes and other erotic content? :rockout:

how do you get hooked up to these events???

The only reason why I think they would have it in Tunisia is becuase there currently having a computer revolution, and are among the first countries in Africa to utilize computers as a teaching method, they do biology on the computer due to the visual nature its easier to understand.

Other countires don`t have to do it as they can afford laboratories to perform experiments in, they also got a huge donation to help there efforts, and after seeing the result decided to spend money on it.

you have to be in a position/do something that makes amd think they get a benefit that's greater than the cost of inviting you
