I'm thinking Ultrabook, Long battery, Light weight.
Using it for Skype, Emails, Open Office, Music, web games, etc. So in otherwords "the general user". Hard drive space won't be an issue since just about everything is 500+ Gb and there is online storage such as google drive and drop box as well as a varieity of others.
I would be okay with refurbished if it helps get a nicer product at a lower price. It's going to be used for traveling a lot as well so something that's going to be durable. I assume all batteries will be fine with spot charging, if that makes sense. A good web cam would be nice, but I understand this may be limited. In terms of priority, I would say weight is the overall factor, screen size I would say around 14" would be the sweet spot, not to large, but not small and can stay within about 4lbs/1.8kg <-- for those who prefer metric! Anyway, I think 13.3 would be fine as well but 15 is definetly going to be to large.
Newegg has a refurbished HP ultrabook with 4gb/i5/500gb for 529.
Refurbished: HP ENVY 4-1030us 14" Ultrabook
