Yeah! 13.8Beta2 it's what im using right now and yeah they did improved the performance!! Still spikes every now and then but they were an improvement over 13.4 definitely ;D! Thanks for your suggestion!

Did you check if the GPU clock is changing? Open GPUZ and log to file while playing BF3, see if the clock stays at max and also report whats the load % on GPU.

Also make sure if you have overclocked your GPU, move that performance control slider to 20% (sorry don't remember exactly what its called).

I don't think your board can deliver enough juice for an overclocked X6 as it has 4+1 phases and old D2PAK VRMs. If you can't get a full upgrade try to get an used X4 BE and overclock as much as possible. Otherwise going to an i5 or FX8xxx+900 series chipset would be much better.

EDIT: Doh, didn't see that there were 3 pages of this. Disregard.

We have a 965BE@3.8Ghz running of a 650w psu, and it runs bf3 just fine in high settings and a 6870 vidcard.
Your cpu is definitely the limiting factor here. So if you don't have the money to jump platform ( i5 or i7 ) you might as well get a faster cpu for your socket.

seems like your GPU clock is not stepping up to the max. Turn that setting I mentioned to 20% and start logging once you actually in the map and playing!

But wouldn't i start getting artifacts and stuff like that i mean, it's a 7 days old card, i don't want to start bashing into her after all the money it costed me :(

I do wonder tho, if the auto power down that ati includes in the CCC isn't messing up or has something to do with that spikes of sudden usage and (if you can see in the log) there's a couple of drops to 300mhz (Iddle power mode)

Nah, nothing will happen to the GPU, that cooler on that is a monster and the GPU is always ice cold. Push that slider and post what happens.

Also load up Fraps and press F11 to record FPS (check only to record min, max and avg).

I have 7870's but not BF3 installed. I can load it up if you'd like me to test anything. I do have a 4770K so that might not be fair in the testing.
I can test at work on an AMD 1055T if you'd like.

Thanks for your kind offering, but no, i've seen other videos with 7870's and they all pull ultra graphics smooth. Some users reported spikes just like mine but they've been able to fix them with a command line, i've tried every single listed solution, the purpose of this post was to narrow down the problem to 1 component and im between my Motherboard or my Processor, that's why i think i'll change the whole thing and keep my memos and GPU.

Thank you again!

Here's a copy of my user.cfg file (im at work right now hehe not on my main machine, but i memorized the commands xD)

GameTime.MaxVariableFPS 60
RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 1
RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 1
RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 0
PostProcess.DynamicAOEnable 0
WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapResolution 256

i also have render fps and the CPU-GPU overlay to check the overall progress.

I might be missing some, but pretty much those are my settings.

Thanks for your input, doesn't matter if you didn't read, actually better so your opinion isnt' biased. I most likely will change mobo-cpu for an i5 config, they are reliable for gaming AND work (i do video graphic design and some video editing) so i think they're probably the best choice)

I would try to switch the connectors used on your PSU to the VGA. I had similar issues with my XFX 7870 Black Edition. It were connected to the default cable-tree with two 6 pin connectors. On my cable select PSU I had two spare plugs stating PCIe and these and maybe only these are capable of handling the VGA power consumption. Since the connectors are switched I have no more bluescreens, no more adapter loss and recover and no more overall bad performance, also the fan control of the VGA seems working the first time... It had took me almost a year to figure this out... I hope this may help and if you only have one time the connectors on your PSU maybe its time for a branded cable-select PSU which won some awards or is widely used at least :)

Alright! All finished! I have a new shiny beautifull 8320 runing at 4.0ghz, all of the bottleneck is gone, BF3 won't go below 60fps with everything on ULTRA, and BF4 Beta won't go below 55 FPS with ULTRA settings (always on 1920x1080) .

Everything is great! Thank you guys for all of the advice you provided!
