Seeing as they can be had for around £150, I figured why not buy another for xfire. I've never ran a dual GPU setup, so I've no idea what the drivers are like or if there are any other issues I should be aware of (eg. micro-stuttering). I'd love to hear input from someone who's ran these cards in xfire.

My PSU is: Corsair HX620W
mobo: gigabyte Z77-UD5H
CPU: 3770k @ 4.4GHz

I've a feeling it'll be fine with this PSU (fingers crossed)

After a little research, doesn't look like it'll be possible. My PSU only has 2x8/6 pin connectors, which are both being used by my card. Would a molex to 8 pin connector work????

I have a similar setup and when I was running CrossFire I came close to 600 watts at times. Running that close to PSU wattage isn't recommended and I don't think there's going to be enough amperage for it... or it will be very close. Personally I'd look into something a bit more beefy.

Perhaps it would be a better idea to sell my 7970 and get a 780ti (when they come down in price) or wait for the next gen of cards to be released. I also realised my sound card would obstruct a 2nd card anyway, oh well.

the price isn'T the same for sure, but performant gain will be great.

Iwould wait next gen as an HD7970 overclocked is still quite good..

My opinion is to just wait or buy another PSU thats at least 750+ watts. Your system would be able to hold up to it, but I would not recommend using Molex on that because it would already come so close the chances of overloading a rail becomes quite high.

As far as a 7970 vs GTX 780ti, I would say just wait because you will get a performance hike of only 10-20% depending on titles of course (Within margin of error) which would not seem to beneficial in the long run. I would say just overclock it as far as temps let your (Depending on cooler, 1200mhz on the core is a snap) and keep it until the next gen AMD or Nvidia cards come out. Should not be too much longer on the GTX 8XX series at least.

780 ti's are pretty ridiculous in the price department. I'd wait it out, that's what I'm doing. Maybe get one of those AIO water cooling systems and one of the new GPU brackets, put the 7970 under water and give it a good OC. :D

Recommended would be 45a, 750w for two 7970s and 47a, 850w for two 7979 GHz Editions.
