The RAVEN RV05, the fifth edition in the exciting RAVEN enthusiasts chassis series continues the tradition of breaking and evolving the standards of desktop PC design. With a bold move that sees the removal of all 5.25" drive bays, the RAVEN team engineers again saw the opportunity to re-utilize the 90 degree rotated design. Previous RAVEN models with 90 degree layout often had to compromise on space efficiency due to fixed length of the motherboard in rotated orientation.

The elimination of 5.25" bays solves this issue naturally and enables RV05 to be even more balanced in terms of design than if the same were done to a traditionally-layout case. With most of the wasted space eliminated from RV05, engineers were thus able to better optimize the case for the most important performance-affecting components such as CPU and GPUs.





The result is an expertly-engineered ATX chassis that is just as capable in terms of compute power and heat dissipation as the first RAVEN chassis, the RV01, but in half the size. I agree, nothing so far has beaten the old 02 designs, besides the ITX case as an addition. Weird thing is, most people I've heard from prefer the 02 designs, and yet Silverstone don't seem to want to capitalise on this fact.

.....no where near as good as 1 or 2 ......but far better than the last few..... That origin Millennium case looks more Raven -ish than this..... Every company should have this 1 guy whose sole purpose is to not allow a brand to be pooped on by poor design, build quality or aesthetics..... He should have the power to say NOPE...... name it something else.......this is not quite it yet.

Just take the FT-02, RV-02, FT-03 into the lab and try to improve them a little. Not radically change the design.

They have already tried the 90 degree and downward so yeah maybe next time they just might tilt it backwards.

I mean, sure, there are some improvements to the interior, but the exterior... oh gods.

I am very pleased with the design and dissatisfied with the amount of plastic. Metallic elements would have put the product to the top. Here we have cheap plastic and aluminum could look very nice ! Too bad

I just want them to make a slightly cheaper successor to the TJ11 in the RAVEN series, since the supply of that is drying up and I don't want to spend 500+ on a case >.>

Glad to see they kept the inverted motherboard like the RV01; that's one of the best features in our opinion; now the RV05 has a slightly smaller footprint too...
