Is This the First Picture of GeForce GTX 880?

This 28 nm GTX 880 will be worthless if:

NVIDIA to skip 20nm fabrication process, third generation Maxwell to use 16nm?

Now, here’s the biggest shocker coming from SemiAccurate article. According to their sources, NVIDIA will skip 20nm node and move straight to 16nm. Not only that, GM204 will be the first GPU remanufactured and relaunched using this process.

NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 880 will launch is set for Q3. If everything goes according to plan, the new flagship should appear in October.

The second wave would launch somewhere in mid-Q1/2015, which gives us 4 to 6 months between the second and third generation of Maxwell.

Long story short, the GM204 at A stepping is expected to be the last 28nm GPU NVIDIA is going to make. The GM204 B and all future GPUs will use 16nm node.

Yeah I saw that, I think I might wait for GM210, not interested in another mid-range GM204 chip.

How the hell do you know he is one of the commentators??? I don't see the damn username.
And? My point is he/that site can be trolling sometimes, mostly spreading false rumors. I stopped taking them so seriously a long time ago.

Imo no wonder its blocked @ guru3d :p

Ahhh.... gotcha :P

What precisely is the shocker here? TSMC's CLN20SOC isn't suitable for high power GPU's. Myself, as well as others, have attempted to debunk that supposed fairy tale for some time.
TSMC's own roadmap stated the same thing before they softened the PR when they cancelled the CLN20G (General Purpose) process

If Charlie D is using his usual modus operandi, he'll claim that Nvidia will launch four cards, then when they launch 2 or 3 claim that they couldn't launch the rest because of bad yields. I'm actually quite surprised that he hasn't announced a fictitious GM 2xx part as clickbait, then later, deliver a six-part exposé on why Nvidia failed to produce it

So you're telling me if Nvidia launched a GM204 part, that outperformed the 780Ti, for half the price, you would have no interest in it? Who cares as long as the performance is there?

Dude swings and misses so often I'm surprised the Red Sox haven't offered him a contract.

No I wouldn't, I already own GK110.

Only future GM210 should be worth it. Hopefully ~ 10tflops :D
