Intel Core i7 "Haswell-E" and X99 Motherboards Launch Date Revealed

So far, all Core i7 introduced has hyper threading, so theory 2 seems more plausible.

1 of many significant differences between i5 and i7 is Hyper-threading. If you take out HT, an i7 wouldn't be much different from an i5 except for the additional cores, tdp, cache size, and clock-first derivatives. I'm simply saying if you have two cores with the same specs, but you gave HT to one of the two cores, the core with the HT would be called an i7 in Intel's eyes.

@ the threads in general,

i7 5960x would be a nice upgrade, but it's not worth it. Comparing it to what I have (i7 4960x Ivy-Bridge Extreme), you'd get two extra cores, 4 extra threads, and core clocks that still focus on single-thread performance instead of multi-thread performance, isn't worth it for my line of expertise. Two extra cores would help drop render times for Krakatoa and other CPU intensive software, but with a 3.00 GHz stock clock, probably looking at 4.0 Ghz OC at best (a little to generous) with massive temperature buildups, less support for PCIe lanes, and the possibility that DDR4 may have some kinks off the bat, I feel inclined to wait for the 2015 refresh or successor. Asking another $1,000+ price tag with an improved version coming out 3 months after (around Christmas time) isn't worth it. This reminds me of i7 3990k where if you had a good binned CPU, you can get nicely OC performance, but it didn't have stable 2500Mhz + mem frequencies and less than full support for PCIe 3.0. Like Pascual for NVidia, I'd rather wait to see what appears around New Years.

INTEL Purposely hampered development. because the longer the Intel develops one type of hardware , has more profit.
We'll show you how lying to us-
Since 2011 there is architecture that can handle 48 lines and 8 pci core xeon--

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Xeon/Intel-Xeon E5-2687W.html March 6, 2012..ok but

and now in late 2014 these f*ckers Add from some kind expensive 8 core 5xxx K processor which is exactly at those frequencies as the core 8, 2012 ..Total shame on Intel

I'm at home I have 4 computers 2x4930 1x3930 1x12core EN form china for one-third the price of a new super expensive from intel ....................
Never will not purchase a new processor from Intel, only those from China.
there are real prices for 12 core -1000 eu .....noo rather silly 3000 eu

if it were strongly amd, intel today offers instead b*stard 5xxx, BUT 12 core K edition !!

people around the world complain about the debate but would only help total boycott 5xxx processors and motherboards of chipsets x 99
99.9% of most people will never need the resources (at the time of this post) of a 6c/12t CPU, forget a 12c/24t CPU. Intel can make whatever the heck they want, but they do whatever the market demands and the market hasn't been demanding performance like this because there is no everyday app the needs 12 cores forget using them. It has been demanding power efficiency though for mobile devices and those improvements tend to spill over into platforms that don't require it like tablets and mobile devices do.

is not . if they were normal prices for processors and boards including preparations of chipset, the very people would like to buy 12/18 core processors, and consequently would be developers OS and application programs or forced to evolve multithreads programs.
But what do intel is no longer capitalism ..to is already oligarchy
And you think this oligarchy would be dissolved by Intel pricing 12 core processors at what you term "normal prices" ? Well, running your scenario, Intel prices the 5960X at $400-500, and every Intel CPU and platform under the 5960X and X99 is price adjusted accordingly - what do you think an i3 sells for? $20 ? $30 ? If you think that sounds like nirvana, just remember that AMD has to price competitively on performance...they're sitting on sub-17% market share for x86 processors, you think ultra aggressive Intel pricing will aid AMD and dismantle your oligarchy?

Be careful what you wish for.

the demented intel procedure process we see in chrome 64 bit..stil only in beta stage and eat my 10 gigabytes of ram ..

If that's what you think, then you're delusional. Most modern day operating systems can schedule 64 or more logical threads. The problem is that certain application can only be made to run in parallel so much and that a lot of normal tasks that people do can't explain the benefits for multi-core computing. Before you start making claims like this, how about you learn a little bit about how multi-threaded programming works. Chrome is an excellent example, I have two tabs open and Chrome has started 85 threads across 5 processes not only are they all idle when they're doing nothing, when they're working they use shared memory so coordination is required, so good luck actually using more than a few cores at once despite the fact there are 85 threads running. Not to mention each tab is probably the processes with just 10 threads so "what" each thread is doing matters as well because 90% of them might not matter with respect to performance and might only exist to handle events.

If you know so much about multi-threaded development maybe you should go tell all these companies how it's done and do it better. :slap:

Intel....as always taking the latest tech, and WAY "over-charging";because, they "know" that their the only kid on the block---that is finally going to have motherboards and CPU's, that will support the latest DDR4 ram.
Brother!!! Here we go...again!?!!
I just knew...that they would "pull" this!
"Corporate "GREED"....just plain "typical".

The VERY "wealthy"...will love this puppie!

Are you trying to be a tool? Intel's high-end line has always been more expensive than their mainstream counterparts. As far as I can tell, Intel hasn't made much changes to their pricing because their is no competition, but coincidentally we haven't seen prices spike either, they've stayed about the same. So while I agree that they're greedy, they're not taking full advantage of it because that would push customers away. All in all, I think you're over reacting. Intel also has the resources to do DDR4 first, unlike AMD, so they will be.

Every body's...got their "own" opinion,man. JUST..like you.

And i just brought a 4790K lol, I think ill wait till the end of the year to upgrade to X99 or until i get the itch.

DDR4 is very expensive anyway, imo no need to rush.. unless you want to cashout almost 300€ just for 16gb ram 2666mhz CL15..

or a fckin 830€ lol -_- for 32gb 3000mhz CL15,
http://compare.eu/crucial-ballistix-elite-dimm-kit-32gb-a1148279.html

edit: ok its probably a glitch in store, here same ram same store 600€, still price overkill..

Speaking of 5930K saw one for pre-order @ 530€..

NOPE...NO hurry! Will watch and "read" what others' who decide to "jump" on the band wagon, have to say---1st.

It's not an opinion. I'm a developer and I've written multi-threaded code. I'm speaking from experience and my own education. That's a little different than an opinion. How about not talking about stuff you don't know about. ;)

MOST people don't even understand the difference between a hardware problem and a software problem. If you buy and build your own PC, you're still the minority. (not arguing against your point here, rather, agreeing with it).

Well...with your "attitude"... I wouldn't even "want" to go "back" to INTEL..now. Sounds like your a little too BIG for your own britches...and the head, is a bit too big---for the body. I've dealt with "Corporate" before. You guys---NEVER "change",at least NOT for the better... Your "stuff" just doesn't stink---I bet.

It's not an attitude either. It's facts. I know a lot about software because I write it for a living. I don't work for a big business, I just have a degree in Computer Science as well as a job as a senior software developer (...and about to get a promotion I might add.) So I'm sorry if I burst your bubble, but how about growing up and not acting like a 12 year old when your argument gets debunked. If all you can do is attempt to insult me but yet you can't even defend your own points, you shouldn't even bother posting.

Hay...what goes around...comes around. Don't give it(disrespect) ..if you don't like "getting" it back in spades--in return,man.

Then how about making your point instead of spitting out rhetorical nonsense. :)

Off topic! I seriously thought your name said 'Analsoul'

Is that cruel?

Funny thing about X99 is it wont be Skylake compatible anymore. Only Haswell-E and later Broadwell-E.

Skylake-E will get another chipset because of native pcie4.0 support. At least according to wiki.

Cant wait, I'm in.

Got my eyes and wallet waiting on a matx x99.....and some nvidia 8 series gpus :D fun times ahead
