ASUS will address the socket LGA2011-3 motherboard market with three of its brands, the gamer and overclocker-centric ROG (Republic of Gamers), the durable TUF (The Ultimate Force) brand, and its mainline brand, which features a balanced feature-set between the two. Its flagship motherboard will be the X99-Deluxe. Pictured below, this ATX motherboard is one of the most feature-rich ever built by ASUS. It draws power from 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors. The CPU is powered by an 8-phase VRM, and the memory by a 4-phase one. The socket is flanked by eight DDR4 DIMM slots. Expansion slots include four PCI-Express 3.0 x16, one PCI-Express 2.0 x16 (electrical x4), and an additional PCI-Express 2.0 x4.

Storage connectivity on the ASUS X99-Deluxe includes twelve SATA 6 Gb/s ports, one SATA-Express 10 Gb/s port, and a "standing" M.2 slot with PCI-Express 2.0 x4 physical layer. There are 14 USB 3.0 ports in all (ten on the rear panel, four by headers). Network connectivity includes two gigabit Ethernet interfaces (both driven by Intel-made controllers), 802.11 ac WLAN, and Bluetooth 4.0. The 8-channel onboard audio, dubbed Crystal Sound 2, features a high SNR DAC, audio-grade electrolytic capacitors, a headphones amp circuit, and ground-layer isolation.

That's certainly one good looking motherboard.

10 USB 3.0 on the rear panel...is USB 3.0 natively supported by Windows 8/8.1?

wow i like the white and black combo. i want one...

WOW that is gorgeous, just may have found my christmas and birthday gifts to me!

I sooooo love the color scheme... hope they will make this their default color theme for the next generation motherboards for Broadwell... HEDT platform is not for me, too much for both features and price... :D

Yes, Windows 8/8.1 come with native xHCI SuperSpeed support.

My new board. I hope the mainlines are all the same color or I'm gonna have to cough up the 450 I saw for this board.

Super ugly for me guys... looks pretty standart really...

Wow thats some really ugly plastic shield thingy.

Everyone's entitled to their op, and to each their own, I love this board, second ever Asus board ever to be quite honest. MSI better come correct or I'm out-ti.

i feel bad. cause i want so bad put my 3930k in this mobo

gj asus, again when u need high end mobo , i really like asus

:toast:

Seems like it has everything but the kitchen sink and Thunderbolt / Thunderbolt II.

I wonder if this new ASUS X99 board supports the ThunderboltEX II card,....?

As for the aesthetics of the board, I think it looks fine but I don't buy motherboards for their looks so such things don't really matter much to me.

I could believe that this board will go for ~$450 USD. Not sure I would want to pay that though.

Edit:

"standing" M.2 slot",......I guess this is why I missed the M.2 slot when I was looking at the board. This board looks physically packed very densely with surface mount components.

It might be advantageous to wait a while though because ASUS usually comes out with something after their initial release.

Not one bit of love for the other X99 boards posted on here today lol

Not really a surprise seeing as this one, visually at least, looks the best.

I will be 100% honest and say that you are expecting too much from me. :p ROFFL. I am attending school from 7:15-4:15 daily (Environmental Engineering). A different board and DDR4 reviews first.

I'm just excited that you're excited lol. I just want to see at least 2 reviews, I will be having some down time at work this weekend so I need a few reviews to keep me occupied. Don't matter which board.

Off topic- what's your focus on your studies/what field are you looking to work in? This is very closely related to what I do and what I studied :)

Large-scale commercial designs, for the PC industry, hopefully. Everything needs heating/cooling, from PCs to cars, to homes, so no matter what I decide to do in the end, doesn't really matter, it's a pretty secure career, so while I have ideas and aspirations, I'm not closing any doors just yet, either. Even space ships need environmental controls. ;)

Consider moving one class to night classes, if available, this would bring you into the network of those already working in the field who are trying to reinforce their educational backgrounds ;)
