Finnish overclocker "The Stilt" overclocked his brand new AMD FX-8370 to a record-breaking 8722.78 MHz. The target was achieved using a base-clock of 276.91 MHz, and a multiplier of 31.5x, core voltage of 2.004V, and DRAM frequency of 1107 MHz (2214 MHz DDR). Other hardware included an ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z motherboard, and 2x 4 GB of AMD made DDR3 memory. The setup was cooled by a liquid nitrogen evaporator. Find the validation and other details here.

Is...is that a toilet paper roll? I'm not big into the overclocking scene, maybe that's standard for such high clocks o_O

On all 8 cores!

Impressive.

Maybe Globalfoundries managed to squeeze some process improvements into their 32nm process for AMD to use in these new models(Although theres not much else hinting at this)

edit:

Its kitchen roll paper I think, which is normally used for things like these to soak up the condensation(which forms as a result of the low temperatures) that could otherwise short out the motherboard.

That makes sense, thanks.

Now that's impressive especially considering all 8 cores are still enabled. Makes me want one to test one myself.

lol view the full size does kinda look like a toilet paper xD

wow, thats very impressive

WOW! Thats uber, was it an ES or retail or from the gods of oc (or amd put aside because it blew their minds on binning)...

p.s (Hope you got brain insurance, because this will blow ya fucking mind)

impressive clocks and that is with all cores enabled :toast:

Wow blinky long time no see

That's exactly what I thought I expected to see one module (2 cores) and the rest disabled as usual but NO all 8 core enabled that's totally wicked

This is truly impressive good job my finnish brothers :rockout:
