So i need a laptop/Ultrabook which ill be using for some light web browsing, watching movies and doing some uni work on (word and stuff, nothing fancy).

Wont be using this for gaming at all on this so no need for a discrete graphics card.

What im mainly looking for
Touchscreen
SSD (No need for both ssd + hdd since i have an external ill be using for mass storage)
Preferably 15.6 inch screen

Budget is about £1000, i can probably stretch upto +£100 if needed.

im a noob with Lappy's, but @ that price I sure HOPE You'll get a discreet GPU, or atleast a beast of a CPU, and a TON of RAM/SSD space. Good luck with your search, and I see nothing wrong with the location of your post.

Also, as the post below says, the new intels are releasing soon, and I BELIEVE that they come with that "iris" iGPU, or atleast some of them do, which is supposed to be quite a bit better than the last generation of intel graphics, which admittedly have been pretty bad, but hopefully this new generation will not dissapoint, but either way, older Gen's SHOULD drop in cost due to the impending release.

I would wait until laptops start coming out with intels new 'Core M' architecture, which promises better battery life, and thinner bodies

Sony Vaio Fit Flip 15 is nice and it has N-trig support too and the Asus Transformer Book FLIP TP500LN seems promising and is a little more powerful than the Vaio Flip 15 although it doesn't have a digitizer for N-trig or Wacom pens.

For 15.6 inches i would say you could get the Flex2 from Lenovo that is touchscreen and FullHD. Maybe even the one with the nvidia gpu. And it wont break the bank.

I'm looking at ultrabooks because i wanted one that is thin/light and decent ish battery life and has touch screen, ultrabooks tend to fit that description.

As to everyone else, thank you for your suggestions, i guess ill wait it out till some new laptops/ultrabooks with the new core M processors hit the market.

You shouldnt have high hopes regarding them. Those are some fine CPUs for expensive tablets and convertibles being the Y series. The U series is what you should be looking for. Y series Haswells tend to run almost always at Throttled frequency due to the low TDP. Maybe Core M will fix this but i am not convinced. For what you described, even an atom should work and 15.6 is too much for an ultrabook really, more like 13-14 inch would be ultrabook teritory. Maybe wait out Broadwell and then pick up a nicer 4th gen model that is downpriced. That is Q1-Q2 next year for the more mainstream parts.
