Well, that was fast! NVIDIA gave WHQL signing to the GeForce 344.16 Beta drivers it released earlier this week. The drivers still support just GeForce GTX 980 and GTX 970 graphics cards. The release notes document (PDF) is still not clear on exactly what these drivers bring to the table, over the recently released 344.11 WHQL, but we believe it could be an important bug-fix specific to NVIDIA's new GPUs.

I don't know Nvidia but I ask, How the hell and why are there so many drivers all the time being released?

I thought WHQL takes a month or so to be approved?

Christ even AMD/ATI only released one a month not to long ago..... The green team seem to have many lol.

And its a question so :lovetpu:

There's really only one obvious answer. They found a pretty bad bug or few in 344.11 WHQL and fixed it with these 344.16 and got them certified quickly. WHQL certification takes a week or 2 most of the time. AMD/ATI releases a driver every month. Its their regular schedule.

The good thing is that only you decide when to install them! ;)

I checked them too, but they are only for 970/980. Not for my pc anyway.

I've experienced a couple of odd bugs since getting my card. Havent had the chance to install since the .16 beta but I'll try them later and see if issues are gone.

I just have 344.11 installed for my GTX770M, it runs fine, I'm not updating drivers again this time.

Well that's good, because you wouldn't be able to anyways. Didn't you read the person you quoted? Or the article?

It's funny, it used to be the other way around.

After installing this driver my pc is being all slow with everything. I am not sure why this would cause that though.

Did you get a 970 or 980?

meanwhile AMD released last WHQL half a year ago - christ

besides amd hasn't had a new gpu, but really since been really NO new big games released last 4-5+ months its been kinda slow time for drivers on both sides.

Or its just for support for the new cards?

From the release notes:
This driver is aligned with today's
launch of the world's most advanced GPUs-the GeForce GTX 980 and GTX 970.
