Dell to Put slot-loading Blu-ray drive in high-end XPS M2010 laptop

The Dell XPS M2010 laptop is definitely not going to sound like a laptop. Sporting a rather large 500GB RAID 0 array, a 20.1" widescreen monitor, high-definition sound/video stuff, and a gazillion (very professional term for a lot) other un-announced features, the M2010 is going to be one of the most feature-laden DTR (DeskTop Replacement) laptops to ever hit the market. But now, word on the street is that the M2010 is going to have another pioneer feature: a slot-loading Blu-ray drive. This would make the M2010 the first laptop to come with a slot-loading Blu-ray drive, assuming there are no surprise releases to beat Dell to the market.

the M2010 is huge. i wonder if dell is going to switch the flagship notebook from their 17" xps to the M2010 because of how much larger the M2010 is. You could defiantly put alot more stuff in the M2010 with better ventilation than in the 17", but that's how i look at it. Then again, 20" is by no means portable in the way smaller size laptop is (even 17")

Ah, thanks for that, it would help if I knew what a slot-loaded player was, which is why I didn't write about it :p.

lol, yeah, that would make sense. slot loading=sliding the dvd or cd or w/e into a slot, like your car's cd player. so it's "fancier" it's just a status thing imo, it doesn't really matter as far as the player design, except that it probably breaks faster. lol charing more for something that breaks easier :nutkick:

Just like the slot loading drive on the PS3. That is pretty awesome, as Dell makes some killer laptops. In fact, I use a Dell at work everyday in our manufacturing office. Pretty nice even if it is old.
