MSI is pleased to announce a special and limited edition GAMING graphics card powered by NVIDIA's GTX 970 GPU. The new MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G GOLDEN EDITIONfeatures increased clock speeds and improved cooling performance thanks to an all copper heatsink and heatpipe with anti-oxidation treatment.Kept cool by MSI's all-new Twin Frozr V with Hybrid Frozr technology, this limited edition MSI GTX 970 GAMING card providesgaming enthusiasts with low-noise and low-temperature graphics performance. The MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G GOLDEN EDITIONwill be available exclusively in the USA and APAC countries.

The new MSI twin Frozr V Thermal Design is the pinnacle of graphics card air cooling. With a smaller than 2-slot design the new Twin Frozr V is able to surpass previous generation's by a large margin. The new 10cm Torx fans ensure huge amounts of silent airflow and visually match the bold new look of the Twin Frozr V. The heatsink itself is re-organized through the SuperSU design which increases heat-pipe efficiency, especially when combined with Airflow Control Technology. Hybrid Frozr is a throwback to 2008 when MSI was the first to market high-end, zero noise graphics cards thanks to fans that stop spinning in low-temperature situations. Additionally, you will find Independent Fan Control on certain models which allows fans to spin independently of one-another based on component temperature below the fans.

With the GTX 970 GAMING 4G GOLDEN EDITION, the next-generation of MSI GAMING graphics cards MSI is leveling-up the PC gaming experience. The MSI Gaming App allows gamers to quickly switch between OC, Gaming and Silent modes depending on their needs. Now featuring the EyeRest tab, which offers quick access to specific monitor color profiles for games, movies and a special EyeRest mode which reduces blue light. Reduction in blue light emission helps tune your body to the night-time so it's easier to rest after long gaming sessions.

mmmm very tasty indeed. My only concern would be the increased weight of the card due to the copper heatsink which may inturn make the card sag. Hopefully the backplate helps out with that. Looking forward to seeing temps/noise for this card along with overclocking results. W1zzard will hopefully be summoned for a review :)

Gold?

It's clearly copper...

Get to daa coppaaa....

Indeed. This is far from gold. If anyone from MSI reading this:

This:

is not this:

They should rename this the Bronze Edition. And YES I know its copper but atleast my suggestion is closer what they were going for.

Yeah, they should just put a solid gold radiator instead at the low low price of 980€ per ounce.

Hopefully with better quality fans than the gaming edition which a lot of people had problems with: fan(s) stuck at 100% or fans not wanting to start after passing the heat threshold.

it doesn't match the word "gold" o_O , MSI should focused on build 390X & 980 Ti Lightning, i wanna see it :D on my rig

Still a very sweet looking video card!!! Funny that there is not a 980 variant though as well.

Reminiscent of the GTX465 Golden Edition, I see what they were aiming for.

Though that card was a 470 in disguise and was a beast of an overclocker compared to other 470s (let alone 465s), let's see if the new goldie can live up to that name.

Looks like copper to me. Did I miss something? O_o

And that box hurts my eyes. Seems like an attempt to get people to buy it.

I call "meh" on this one.

seems like an intelligence test of chinese customers, lol!

Two of these just arrived in the mail today and I'm looking forward to putting them through their paces.
Does Wizard have any plans to review this GPU?
