I voted 1/10 because:

I can't stand wood desktop cases when there are so many other forms of structure available. Is money that big of an issue that you can't go and find something other than this.....even a freakin' aluminum trash can would be better suited.

Pine would be fine except for 1 small caveat....

since it is so soft, it will NOT hold shape & size for very long for screw holes and/or other fasteners. Anything where you will want to really crank down the screws to ensure a tight fit that wont come loose...ie....mobo standoffs (stress), fan mounts (vibrations) etc
