NVIDIA Unveils the GeForce GTX TITAN-X

You probably use silent fans, not overkill setup that makes 70 db noise

Yeah you are spot on, my setup is almost passive, using Noctuas at 450 RPM.

Each card draws around 400/450W overclocked, I'm still surprised they are alive after two years.

I got at least 300W worth of Fans.

So a 980Ti will have same specs but half of VRAM?

It only depends on AMD I guess...

R9 295X2 will be hard to beat at 650 USD.

Apples to oranges comparison, this is a single GPU solution, 295X2 is a dual GPU.

but price/perf ratio is still a valid argument ... so no Apple to Orange case here ...

ie: if that thing here cost 2 time a 295x2 then its a single gpu that cost more than a dual gpu so the price/performance ratio take a hit ... then if the performance of the aforementioned thing is 2 time a 295x2 then we have a 50/50 case ...

You can get an XFX 295x2 for $600 with rebate from Newegg right now so I understand your point from a price/performance perspective. Even better I've seen Gigabyte and MSI 290x for $280 recently on sale so that makes a similar performance for $560. A dual GPU GM200 card could cost as much as $3,000 if Nvidia pulls the Kepler Titan Z stunt again. Hopefully they won't though.

Your point would be totally right if dual GPU drivers worked flawlessly 100% of the time. People are willing to (and will) pay a premium for the ease of mind that comes with single GPUs compared to countless headaches dual GPUs drivers give.

Excessive price is nothing new for NVIDIA, therefore I will wait for the AMD-300th the best card and the end of April we expect the market in 20 nm version.
This card is very late unless they want to move the dates for the 20 nm execution, because it will not be for more than 3 months. We can expect a 25% better performance than the GTX980 as it certainly will not be as high clocked. Agen 2 slots and you hew to pay for that !
This will be a fad for the rich and stupid and the rest will probably buy AMD .

Was there a press release conference/presentation for it? I'd like to watch it...

well dual gpu single board suffer less from that inconvenience but i respect your point of view ofc

After this news - 980Ti confirmed for late Oct/Nov this year!!!

You jest? Either way, that is a very real concern. I bought an original Titan and I was mildly pissed off when 780 was announced.
I expect leaks will start appearing from AMD shortly.

i hope this puts pressure on AMD. 380x/390x might kill this card tho, would be fun to see nvidia fail so bad with theyr pricing, titan-x vs 390x/380x

Doubt the 980Ti will be a full GM200 chip. Most likely it will be a cut-down version, something like 2560SP 320bit 5GB memory.

Yeah they can't keep the secrecy veil that much longer, AMD must react.

So do I respect yours :) , hope you didn't get me wrong, your point is very valid. However I can't really take dual GPU solutions seriously anymore after my 5970/6990 endeavour.

I for one am tired of been video pulling fast ones on consumers. If they release a 5 or 6 gigabyte 970 that would be the absolute way to go for 4k setups

Once again you ably demonstrate your tremendous lack of grip on reality.
While Nvidia try to make money (and succeed) like all shareholder businesses do, it seems to cause you such distress.
If you want justice, perhaps you could try a political forum, or a legal one.
Arguably, a compute or HPC focussed card from Nvidia goes a long way in WCG collaborative efforts at helping science. Other HPC uses on huge scales are for ecological and medical purposes.

If you want 'hidden' evil, try arms manufacturers, gun lobbies, corrupt pharmaceuticals etc. Don't cry your wee eyes out over a graphics card company.

Oh really, because AMD don't try to make money and those evil a$%$h)les at Intel and nvidia don't make even the impossible to stop them....

And the business of making money itself is eveil and that's why Jesus Christ expelled the merchants.....

That's why AMD is persistently close to bankruptcy and Jesus expelled the moneychangers from the temple for defiling a holy place not merchants in normal business locations. :)

Wait this wasn’t a reveal or preview… Doesn’t Jen-Hsun pull a card out of a box with “Titan X” and presents to Tim Sweeney head of Epic Games. The cooler just says “Titan”, why not the X on it? Almost like they didn’t have time to even ante-up for a faux 3D stereology cover that had “Titan X”. It’s more like a cheap PR stunt, to get everyone to go “squirrel” and to put his “apology” in the rearview mirror.

The card appears to me to be a Titan with some paint and lights… I just see that Spanish dude from that video, you know that supposed “engineer” ranting about the 970 fiasco. He’s back in a video laughing his ass off as he’s saying... “he pulls out this gussied-up old Titan with paint and lights from a box and holds it up as the second coming, and they drop to their knees!... Like remember the wood screws…”

Other than, “12GB framebuffer, 8 billion transistors” I don’t see that Nvidia gave out any technical spec’s, correct? So more Barnum & Bailey than news, all hinged on words like expected, rumored, likely, plans etc.

Yeah I notice the same as you, the first thing that was weird to me was no back plate and then the "Titan" name instead Titan x, men these guys are going to continue with lies becuase they saw fan boys are gonna support them even if they give shit to them... by the way can you put the link of the video?

Interestingly there's no news here that AMD officially, (as in on the record) said they demo'ing Showdown running on the Oculus Rift Crescent Bay, and saying they are doing with an unannounced Radeon R9 flagship ultra-enthusiast product.

Here's something I thought, Jen-Hsun said "the card will be faster than the current-gen dual-GPU GTX TITAN-Z". Well can't that mean it could be a dual GM204, or does the “12GB framebuffer, 8 billion transistors” not make that probable?
