Crucial, a leading global brand of memory and storage upgrades, today announced significant updates to its Storage Executive tool. The new version (3.20) features Momentum Cache, an intelligent caching feature that can enhance burst performance by up to 10x[1], and allows users to extend SSD lifetime by reducing redundant writes. The tool uses idle memory for caching as needed, and installs easily via the Storage Executive interface.

In addition to the new features, Storage Executive also allows users to:
  • Update to the latest firmware
  • Monitor drive's temperature and health
  • Reset the drive's encryption password
  • Easily check how much storage has been used

"We want everyone to enjoy the benefits of solid state storage," said Jonathan Weech, storage marketing manager, Crucial. "Software that optimises performance and keeps Crucial SSDs running efficiently is another example of how we make upgrading easy."

Crucial Storage Executive can be easily installed from this page, is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 and newer operating systems, and works with the Crucial M500, M550, MX100, MX200, and BX100 SSDs.

Totally-not-RAPID-mode™ brought to you by CrucialSamsung-Magician

I treat it as as a malware... Zero use for that...

Instead OS kernel itself should do the biz and leave such third parity wonderware out.

The pagefile is swaped to hdd, then this rubbish brings it back to ram... Pure magic indeed :D.

Sounds like the "magic" I have already done myself!

Meaning that it doesn't work?

Nah, just doing the same thing as RAPID mode, using RAM as cache. The catch is RAPID mode is entirely useless for all things save for benchmarks. I think it was successfully proven in reviews that RAPID mode was all talk and no walk for real life uses.

RAPID mode was all talk and no walk for real life uses.

Because windows RAM management is actually a smart thing, and does everything what it needs even from slow hdd's... These things only do worst, just as taskmanagers on android interferes with oom cleanup service and thus, lag, poor battery life etc problems appear.

Great, no support for M4 drives...

I don't see momentum cache anywhere in the software.

also new firmware is out...I'm very cautious of updating what works fine.

Just updated to the new 3.20 storage executive. Took some work to enable the new Momentum Cache. Since I do have 32GB RAM and running multiple VMs it is totally fine for me to use my RAM to cache the SSD. The MX200 I bought is pretty sweet. Way faster than than my old WD Black in RAID0.

Nice, just used it to update to last firmware.

I just installed it, and I kind of like it so far.
