On the first day of Computex, we sifted past the In Win 909, which at the time, we thought was a wacky enough case by In Win for this year; until the company dropped this on us, the next day. This unnamed In Win case (working title: "H-tower prototype") is being designed with the ASUS ROG brand licensed; which could be sold directly to the consumers, and part of an ASUS ROG desktop. The case looks like any heavily styled ATX mid-tower with premium aluminium panels, until you push a button, making the case open up like a blooming mech-flower from Cybertron, giving you easy access to its innards. There was nobody around the exhibit who wasn't gaping at it.



The way it opens up is so cool that we decided to take a short video (after the break).

I'd like to see it in a normal dust filled home after a few weeks :D.
 
I wouldn't buy this thing even if I had money to blow.

- Waste of engineering
- Waste of energy
- Even waste of space at Computex.

You must have no clue who In Win is.
 
the day has arrived that pc cases have become concept cars (and probably concept other stuff)
Great for show but pretty much zero practical value.
 
On some non-PC sites this video receives too many negative comments saying PC mustardrace are nerds who spend too much money on useless crap.

Nice case, though.

Its a sense of inferiority speaking. Consoles are basic utilitarian items that perform a standard role. PC's are multi-tasking, multifaceted things that can be as unique as their owner.
We're no master race for sure but our devices are.
As for this case, it'll be exceptionally expensive but it looks pretty damn cool.

Cable Management level: expert (any mistakes and this thing is lighting up in a shower of sparks when the wires get pinched!)

All jokes aside, it looks awesome but seems hugely impractical. From what I heard it is also just an engineering sample that doesn't really work as intended yet. They can't get the motion of the 'transformation' as fluid as it should be, because currently I wouldn't trust my components inside this shaking mess.

Logan from Tek Syndicate said that In Win plans on selling a few of these. I don't know, he could be wrong.

Transformers, more than meets the eye!
My personal opinion is that I like the concept, I don't mind the open look, when it is closed it looks like crap, it will gather dust too quickly, opening and closing the case more than once is asking for trouble and the first time you open it will be too scary for me to attempt.
Perhaps in the future when Hardware doesn't care about dust and everything is wireless, this could be a solution to the . . . I don't know, those that want to press a button to see the insides of the case but still not really be able to replace any parts.
 
looks nice but you need to make sure about any small things like cable that may misplaced before closing it
