Samsung made its premium 32-inch Ultra HD monitor with AMD FreeSync support (model: U32E850R) available in retail stores. It is priced around US $1,199. The U32E850R features a 32-inch PLS panel, with 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) native resolution, 60 Hz refresh rate, 350 cd/m² maximum brightness, 4 ms response time, and dynamic mega-contrast. The panel also offers 30-bit color (1.07 billion colors). Inputs include DisplayPort 1.2a (needed for FreeSync to work), mini-DisplayPort 1.2a, and two HDMI. Samsung appears to have finally learned from feedback for its flimsy T-shaped stand, and gave this monitor a conventional rectangle-base stand that offers swivel, tilt, and height adjustments. Paraphernalia include a USB 3.0 hub.

I allready own this monitor for like a month now, i ordered it on 28.06 and received it 3 to 4 days later, it costs me 1172 EUR in Germany.
It a good monitor, but the Asus Rog swift i had earlier had a better built stand. A Fury X is incoming, so i never had the chance to test freesync. Will test it directly in windows 10.
 
Freesync everywhere. It's becoming a standard feature really fast. If they start improving the Freesync range and move the bottom limit lower, at 30Hz for example compared to the 40Hz+ that is today in most 4K monitors, that would be great and probably a reason to upgrade your monitor even if you where not intending to upgrade your monitor.
 
Hmm, interesting as I was waiting to see am onitor like this on the market (4k Freesync) but sadly this one is not one I would buy. I would prefer a 28inch or smaller for my taste as at the 32inch range its getting a bit to big for my taste. However what I am most curious about is the Freesync range on this monitor and I hope its got a bit more than a 40-60hz range. If I were to looking into getting a Freesync 4K monitor, it needs to at least go down to 30hz.

Considering its no expensive hardware needed on the display side it should be coming faster. I agree with the need for lower bottom limit tho.

Personally i have been drooling over the Philips bdm4065uc partly because of the 40" size, partly because of the VA panel (less bleed and higher contrast than IPS)
 
As soon as one of those 32'+ show up with pricetag of 500€ with VAT, it's mine. But its probably few more years. It's a real shame, decent FHD VA/IPS are available for under 100€, but QWHD and UHD cost ridiculous premium.
 
Great. Now we have to wait for AMD GPU capable of 3840 x 2160 at +60fps. Should be any year now.

Its also a 8-bit panel. This is a 10-bit. The size is nice but your going to have to sit at least 5-6 feet way from a 40" couch distance or else you'll be turning your head to see the corners. A 32" inch is more acceptable and probably the limit at least for me when your working at a desk.
 
If only I had $1200 to blow on a monitor. :(

Edit: Wait; what is the point of an adaptive sync monitor when it can only handle 60 Hz? That's not going to provide much benefit.

That's the limit of DP 1.2a.

DP 1.3 is limited at 4k as well to 96hz, you can get 120hz but at 8-bit.

You'll have to wait for DP 1.4 for 4k standards at 120hz

well freesync is suppose to make it a smoother experience for less then ideal fps as well.
And not many gpu setups can run todays games at 4k at 60 fps so it does benefit.

Not sure what you are talking about:
Dell U2414H (1080p) = € 230
Dell U2515H (1440p) = € 320
LG 27MU67-B (2160p) = € 600

10 bit is only important if you have 10 bit color programs.

Was thinking the same when i got the 30" i have now, but at the moment it does not fill my entire FOV. Also want a screen for use as a couch screen.

A R9 Fury X and a Samsung PM951 pci expres 3.0 4x are on their way. On the SSD im going to instal Windows 10 and see how the combo will work, hopefully i will make it work with UEFI.

I knew i could have had lower inch monitors but 32 was really the size i wanted from the get go, when i started to design my office (it supports a 32 inch monitor), cause really, at lower sizes, 4k is going to be too small.

4k, 32inch IPS, freeSync.
I had before a ASUS rog swift with a 750ti, just to test g sync, but since nvidia made g sync in laptops without modules, it became clear to me they were full of bullshit, so i decided to switch camps.

Not to mention the ASUS monitor had no other input and i couldnt use my PS4 with the monitor.THats why i made the change.
