AMD Releases Catalyst 15.9.1 Beta Drivers

Why do you want to look like a complete ignorant Nvidia fanboy ? Where were you when Nvidia's WHQL drivers were killing Nvidia Graphic cards ? Infact Nvidia did that twice ...

I presume you're talking about the 196.75 and 320.18 drivers? Those were a f**kup and I've never claimed otherwise.

Don't have a reason to update WHQL for several months... you're not working hard enough, fix a Beta-bug in like a day and half and your not doing enough.

It sounds like the issue many of our members talked about, and AMD heard and investigate. And somehow that's not good?

Not good enough, when your beta drivers are effectively your WHQL drivers:

Beta drivers have the advantage of including new CrossFire profiles and is the only way to get them. If you want the most current game support for CrossFire, Beta drivers are a must.

For Single-GPU beta drivers also include new game support or tweaks or performance optimizations for newly released games. If you want the latest game optimizations for single-GPU, Beta drivers are a must.

how does that that have anything to do with this _beta_ driver? are you expecting amd to test all product configurations for a beta release?

at least amd beta releases never break cards like nvidias whql sometimes do

A YouTube video of a guy with graphical corruption and a picture of a burned-out PC proves... what, exactly?

this is getting now nvidia fuck ups vs amd fuck ups....

phew... seriously? stop fan boyism.

I guess all those guys who have been waiting months for a new driver to fix games that don't work should just keep waiting, huh. I mean it's not like anyone buys a graphics card to play games with, they just like multi-hundred-dollar paperweights.
You are adamant to look like an ignorant fanboy aren't you? You don't have to worry, I am pretty sure everyone here can already see that so you can stop trying...

Speaking of "multi-hundred-dollar paperweights", I guess we should not mention the GTX 590 fiasco cough cough...Not to mention the recent drop of the Kepler series right after the 9XX series launched. Those 650-3k GPU's are really showing some longevity aren't they? But I guess people love investing 1-3k in GPU's to have their support dropped after a year and told to buy the next series if they want real support.

Wheres the nvidia people hating on AMD's slow drivers now?

Critical bug in a beta = fast fix.

edit: oh wait, assimilator is already here. gotta love those cherry picked arguments that serve absolutely zero purpose except to justify his personal stance on video card preferences.
He's mad because he only has 3.5gb of VRAM, he's so jealous that many of us have had 4gb for years :p

Well I am glad they fixed it so fast, though it didn't effect me. Ill probably download them tonight...

and a guy spewing crap about another companys procedures on material not intended for general public due to its _clearly_labeled_ untested nature proves what exactly?
isnt there a saying about those with glass roofs shouldnt throw stones or something?

i officialy request links to the story of that burned up system, because daaaaaaayumn.
woke up at 3am to the smoke alarm going off
a lot of smoke and some fire coming from pc that was supposed to be idling
apparently the graphics card (gtx 780 ti) decided to suck up close to 1200w of juice and caught on fire
fire melted the acrylic of the cooler which in turn burned the remaining components

Reporting on HD7970 - had 2 hours of Mortal Kombat X session and 1 hour of Wolfenstein The New Order Session (Tesselation set at 6X, but other setting all set at ULTRA - always stays at 60FPS)- everything fine and dandy.

politely trolling is still trolling.

On topic: The 15.9 drivers work fine for me. Probably because I don't use Firefox. In fact, it's not even installed right now. Problem solved. :)

Well mate... I got also it... I tried to install GTA4 at last... I have not it finished it in so many tries... Well configuring it is a hell nowdays... But, as soon I launched it i got 2GB filled. I knew it just as I updated the driver in the middle of config... Picking up the commandine tweaks. So I guess this leak was in general... For everyone. Bug... Okay it is a beta. No stress... You installed it, watch it.

My biggest concern - Lately... it is so immature here... I would like to see amd and nvidia officials also here, as in other forums. So far the tendency goes so arse that there is no reason even gets maintained.

I suggest to block gpu driver posts only for those who have their respective hardware... That would be more sane.

drivers working fine for me as well. apparently the issue was only with firefox and 4K youtube videos, so while a severe bug not many people were affected.

i think we'll see far more beta drivers and slower WHQL releases thanks to windows 10's forced updates.

The 15.9.1 driver is working smoothly for me.
Kudos to AMD for the responsive fix to their BETA driver.

I went from 15.7 to these. They are pretty stable in BF4.

Also, my temps dropped about 2 degrees idle and around 4 load.

seems like a good one, i'll try it on a 7970 tonight and fire up MGS V

Ive had in Diablo 3 moments where the fps drops to slideshow, 3 4 fps, didnt knew what the hell was happening, turned out the gpus usage dropped at 0, and the game needed reastarted.

Probably that was the memory leak thingy that was suppose to be leaked.
Settings 4k, all max, Radeon Fury X. and 24 Core CPU.

If I've told people once, I've told people 1000 times. Expensive server CPUs aren't usually a good option for gaming. Gaming likes clocks, not cores. :shadedshu:

see it way too often. might change with DX12, but even then some threads are gunna be limited long before the others are used.

Right, DX12 simply improves rendering performance. It does nothing for the game logic itself. A game very well might have 40 to 80 threads, the problem is that they have to wait on each other for data because you can't do everything in parallel at once. DX doesn't solve the problem of making the rest of the game efficiently multi-threaded, it just makes it so rendering isn't the bottleneck.

If someone seriously has thousands of dollars to throw at a Xeon without knowing anything about what they're doing, then they deserve what they're getting. Stuff like this pisses me off because it's an example of someone simply assuming that more money means more performance and spending thousands on a single CPU... It just rubs me the wrong way and makes me want to kick something. The sad thing, is the cost of the CPU probably could have paid for the entire gaming machine and a second GPU.

supreme commander: forged alliance used 17 threads according to a dev - and it was severely crippled by single thread, even on modern systems (the AI thread, since you could have 1000 units per player)

and Matrox is using AMD...

Come on now, the edit button isn't hard to use.

That, and satire evidently goes way above you head.

As you can see, I'm new here. :)

why all the hate. Free yourself, you'll feel much better.

@RCoon > Sorry, I wasn't pointing at you, I'm just commenting that to the general. Cheer!

That's a rather peculiar sentiment, that you're welcome to keep to yourself.
