a bunch or random hdd's

Noctura NH-U9S [needed to fit in 4U case w/out RAM overhang. Will upgrade to watercooling when I have the cash]

Rosewill L4412 case

old copy of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 that I'm going to upgrade to Win 10 Pro

I put finished in quotes because well, it's not done. But usable now.

EDIT: Fuck Rosewell also, their rails are shit, I had to modify my standard 19" wide rack to accommodate them. Also, this case has been giving me nothing but problems. I had to take out the support bar in order to fit my gfx card in, and it's too big for me to be able to put the bar back in. The threads for half the preinstalled standoffs were stripped [easy fix, take out the mobo tray and hit each "threaded" hole with a dent hammer, it makes the hole smaller], and everything in the case wants to use molex, including the fans [can't connect them to the mobo so the mobo can read the fans, wtf!] AND the HDD/SSD hotswap bays and the fans attached to those [SERIOUSLY WTF! I HATE MOLEX WITH A PASSION!]. So I have to keep the case open, and use the ssd from outside the case until the new cables come in. [the seasonic apparently only came with 1 modular cable that supports molex, so I had to buy 4 more.]

Thanks! I'm rack mounting it because I want everything centralized. Also, so it stays off the floor since most dust stays around 6 inches of the floor.

quite a setup for home use. Had a 2 post rack setup for a while, now it holds my tools. via rack shelves. Surprising it only fits 12 HD's would have expected 16 at min in a 4u. Still though hot swaps are nice. What raid card did you pair it with?

4U case isn't fun to build tho. 2U is the best form factor which involves air flow manipulation and height restrictions make overall build more entertaining. 1U is too restrictive and loud.

I used to have a lot of rackmount chassies. Currently only have two tho. I prefer Chenbro chassies.

No raid card right now. Isn't being used for storage. All backups go to my R710 that has 12Tb in RAID5, annd 2Tb in RAID 1. And online.

You can get Molex to pin converter for the fan headers, I get them with my new fans all the time.

Doesn't mean it has 12 drives in it, yet.
