NVIDIA released a hotfix GeForce 359.12 driver for Notebooks, in an attempt to mitigate general game crashes noticed by users of notebooks running the GeForce GTX 860M mobile GPU, with recent R359 series drivers. Besides fixing this issue, the driver's feature-set is consistent with the recent R359.06 WHQL release. As a hotfix driver, it lacks WHQL certification. If you're particular about that, you could revert to WHQL drivers pre-dating version 359.00.

Have to try those new drivers out then on my desktop with GTX670, as nvidia drivers 358.xx cause random BSOD-s on windows 10, like:

VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR like this one:
http://druss.co/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/VIDEO-SCHEDULER-INTERNAL-ERROR-windows-10.jpg
and another one I got was:
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (dxgmms2.sys)

not quite sure if those are nvidia driver problems or windows 10 problem, but it only happens when playing games and watching youtube at the same time on different monitors. also does not happen always and every day, but ... occasionally.

What? Why is this needed. Everyone knows Nvidia drivers are perfect and always work.

Sorry, couldn't resist to make fun of the zealots.

Because ATI's recent release of their Crimson drivers isn't bricking user's video cards due to a fan error?

Come on, neither company makes flawless drivers nor hardware.

That's not what nvidiots think.

Hopefully this will fixed my 860m problem on windows 10 ....

You do know its a joke right?
Calling out those that claim you should stay away from AMD and their "Bad drivers", right?

Yes as it never happens with nVidia drivers now does it.

I just laughed when TheGuruStud called others zealots, his thanks list is also very telling.

AMD fixed that with a Hotfix driver
i dont know if shipping the same drivers with the "force % fan speed" flag disabled (as it should) is supposed to be called a hotfix (any user can do that), they could have tried to fix the "lesser issue" with fo4 (compass corruption) before shipping the package

either way, these latest news about driver issues, like this one and the fan speed lock, were blown way out of proportion, there are way worse issues on both sides than these (issues that cant be bypassed by changing some settings or revert back one driver version)

edit
ATI ... Crimson drivers
nvidiots think
get a room you two, a padded one, you both suck the three of us suck

almost forgot my signature move

this driver somewhat fixes certain 860M owners that has the "driver kernel crashed & recovered successfully" error regardless of what OS their laptops are running. Well, on my end it happened for the first time when I just fired up GFE after installing 359.08 driver. After getting this hotfix, it runs a little better now though I recommend to uninstall or better still, uncheck the list for installing GFE if anyone faces this issue like me since it has something to do with the streaming plugin embedded with it.

update: ran Black Ops 3 & GTA 5 on Very High settings for stress-testing purposes. Results are satisfactory.
