Hi there. I'm not looking to buy a new GPU just yet because I have other things to buy, but I'd like window shop in advance so I'm looking for a GPU with a noticeable performance compared to my old GTX 560Ti Hawk. Now, I have no issues with my 560Ti Hawk at all cause I don't play many of the newer games out there, but it's always nice to keep my options open, know what I mean? So if anyone can provide me some great options for a budget upgrade to the GTX 560Ti Hawk, then that'd be great! Keep in mind this is for Canadian prices only and that I'm not looking to buy a new GPU just yet. Thanks in advance! PS: budget is between $200 and $300 in Canadian currency.

My build at the moment:
Case: Enermax Ostrog GT (soon-to-be a NZXT S340)
Mobo: ASRock Z75 Pro3
CPU: i5-2500K @3.33Ghz (non-OC)
Cooler: CM 212 EVO
RAM: G. Skill NS 8GB @1333Mhz
GPU: MSI GTX 560Ti Hawk 1GB @950Mhz
PSU: Antec EarthWatt 650W
HDD: Western Digital 1TB @7200 RPM
Fans:
-Front: 2x140mm
-Rear: 1x120mm
-Cooler: 1x120mm

I'd say the GTX 960 would be a good choice for a replacement / upgrade. A glance at ca.PcPartPicker suggests they span the range of your 200-300CAD budget. Combine that with a 4GHz OC on your CPU, and you should be good to go for a few more years.

I don't OC. I don't want to reduce the lifespan of my awesome CPU and possibly damage it for the sake of a little more clock speed. Stock speeds are fast enough for me. That's just my preference. Thanks for the suggestion for the upgrade, though.

No offence but if you're not looking to buy right now there's little point settling on a GPU that might be $50 less when you have the money to upgrade or there may be something with better performance for your money, by all means window shop, just come back for some advice when you are looking to upgrade....

:D I almost threw a gif up there, but W1z frowns on that.

And now I find this out after so many ridiculous gifs I've posted? Sorry W1zz

Edit: on topic, yeah a used 970 sounds pretty sweet for you, or maybe a used 290x or so would be good too.

considering 1080p Gaming. i will suggest atleast get 280X from AMd. Great performer GPU. then 970 or 290x at your mentioned budget
