Best browser

Hey people, I have been using opera quite some time and I have never had any issues until now. It has started to get stuck on many sites such as facebook and youtube and sometimes I need to restart it a couple of times to stop "loading" the site. Moreover, I have seen that it has a lot of processes in the background and I am thinking of changing it. I used to work with chrome, but it uses many resources. What do you think is the best browser to use?

I Just switched to Mozilla from Chrome.

It seems snappier and i have fewer loading issues.

ive been on FF since 2010' ish and have only ever strayed when installing Windows, and having no other choice.

Firefox since ver 3 (still have the installer archived ) occasionally use a Chrome clone as some pics get blocked in FF

AND SHOCK HORROR IE6 (5704k mem use ) internal network only ( 1 of my IPCams use an active x plug in for sound and there is no FF plug in available )

I develop in primarily Chrome (then test in the others once done), its dev tools are second to none. IE's are a joke, FF just perform like a dog and don't have the features of Chrome.

I was using Edge and IE11... however, lately, both have started not playing nice with some sites... gets hung and has quite a few scripting problems.

So, right now I am trying out Vivaldi... and, Avant.
Vivaldi has some of the old Opera team.

I've been using Firefox since version 1.5 or so. Open source, rock solid and billions of add-ons. Google Chrome is getting there slowly also. Tried Microsoft Edge, poor thing crashed while opening for the first time :laugh:

On the second try it crashed after few clicks on MSN website.

I use and actually quite like IE11 better than FF, which I used to use, and don't have any problems. I've found Chrome to be a heavy resource user, and Edge is a joke. It's an app, nothing more that I don't find to be as easy to use as IE11.

I've stuck with Firefox mainly due to the simple history feature in the address bar that drops down history in order of frequency. That and it's definitely snappier than IE. Chrome is not great with quick access to history from what I've experienced, and if I recall correctly, doesn't have a refresh button (small thing but annoying and yes, I know that F5 is refresh)

It is. It doesn't even warn you when you close the browser while your downloads are in progress. You close the browser and all downloads are interrupted.

I like how it runs as just one process instead of the 30 like Chrome and IE.

Why does a browser need all those processes?

So that if one of your open tabs crashes, you don't have to restart your entire browser (including all of those other tabs you have open.)

With multiple processes, if one tab crashes, generally you just have to close that one tab down.

Voted Edge... I am just pissed at Chrome, recently i have nothing but issues. GPU process takes up too 1 gig of ram on my new laptop, probably cluttering the IGPU ram and causing windows 10 to use memory compression. Some incompatibility with the vp9 decoder in Skylake, that it uses more resources and is less eficient than software decoding, and so on. Pages load slower than edge with or without adblock.
If only Edge had extension support already...

I'll have to look at it tonight. With FF, place your cursor in the address bar and you get a dropdown list of pages you've visited, in order of frequency, that feature alone rocks. Open up a new tab and you get a tiled view of the same. I haven't seen anything similar in Chrome other than favorites (and I'm not bashing Chrome, perhaps there is something like it, I just haven't found it..)
