Another card that's built for LN2. Not meant for air cooling. I think I stated in this thread earlier to just get a G1, SSC, FTW or some other card that has a good cooler on it, and you'll be completely happy with your purchase.

I have a pair of EVGA GTX-980Ti GPUs in SLI. One is the Super Clocked card and the other one is not.
Both of them are clocked at the Super Clocked GPU's specs and they work well together.
I couldn't actually game at 4K on my 4K screen with just one of them, but now that I have two of them, it's all good.

Air cooling is enough if you have a good case with good fans in it.

G1 looks ugly for me with all that leds and with the card looking down u will have reflections of the colors only. Checked forums for the evga classified ones they seem to have a pretty good cooler. At least better than the blower style ones i had on my gtx 770

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
See what vellum said above? Just get evga SC. It has the same coover and costs less. Really, all we are saying is that the classified, HOF, Matrix Platinum, Kinpin, while great cards, you don't remotely need. Again, they are made for sub ambient overclocking and you will pay for features you won't touch and won't help in ambient overclocking, so why pay more for nothing? Those cards do not have a better chance at reaching the 'bell curve' clocks (1475-1525)...

This really isn't that difficult. :)

I mentioned earlier that you would want a dual slot cooler for SLI, so the giga g1/extreme are out.

If you like red and not a lot of LED, grab msi gaming 980ti. Cheaper than the classified.

It really pains me to see the insistance to spend more than one needs to. Go buy a Ferrari aND drive it in a school zone. :p

I had the same exact reaction, thinking 'black and red for less money, and great cooling and reliabity, get the MSI."

Power Supply EVGA 850 watt..
Mouse Logitech G700s
Keyboard Logitech K270
Software Win 10 pro..
Benchmark Scores Firestike 29500.. timepsy 14000..
my own system.. a pair of palit super jetstream cards..

i have two case side fans blowing directly on to them and the cpu cooler..

i run 1440 with a g-sync monitor.. i also run with a 75 fps-ish frame rate cap.. they basically have more power than i need and run at around 60% core and power usage..

at full power the top card runs about 20 C hotter than the bottom card.. the side fans are essential.. my bottom card runs at around 50 C and top one at around 70 C..

with the 75 fps cap they run bottom 45 C and top 55 C.. the cpu at 4.6 gig games at around 55 C..

with g-sync i cant see any difference between 75 fps and 140 fps which is why i save power and run the frame rate cap..

If its high school why not xD
am willing to pay more for the design first as i dont like the looks of msi. i prefer the reference ones but those classified and g1's are quite sexy xD

MaximusE, your post got me looking at video card deals. (go figure)

So I just ordered a SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon R9 390X 8GB OC Version w/ backplate. Got it for $399.00 US. (I know,.....I'm weak)
I'll get the second one in a month for Crossfire.
I like the looks of it and the performance should be good too.

I'll sell all three of my R9-290s and the two R9-280X GPUs that I have now. The pair of GTX760's will probably be donated to a good cause.
I'll end up with one PC with a pair of 980Ti cards, one with a pair of 980s in it, and the last with the two Sapphires.
I should be good for a while.
