Integral Memory is first to market with a 256GB microSD card that offers a double portion of memory for storage hungry mobile devices. Recent generations of smartphones and tablets, demand increased capacity to save high-resolution photographs and video as well as to accommodate increasing numbers of app installs and music downloads.

The arrival of the new generation of microSDXC cards is set to deliver twice the memory capacity and the fast speeds required to manage Full HD resolution files without the fear of 'maxing out'. Smartphones and tablets fitted with the new 256GB capacity memory card can now accommodate 31 hours of Full HD footage or an equivalent 43,288 photographs, allowing consumers to worry less about running out of memory and to enjoy their devices more.

Integral have developed and performance tested their new microSD cards with Android and Windows smartphones and tablets in mind. These devices benefit from the flexibility and the lower costs that result from interchangeable memory cards.

The Integral Smartphone and Tablet memory card range of microSDHC and microSDXC cards are all fast Class 10, UHS-I Class 1 specification, with data transfer rates up to 90MB/s.

"The new 256GB microSD cards represent a milestone in memory development. The doubling in the scale of memory on these tiny cards will mean that users will be better equipped for a demanding digital future" commented Russell Gordge, Senior Product Manager at Integral Memory plc.

The Integral Memory 256GB microSDXC card has an expected retail price of £149.99 and is available now from selected online retailers.

The Smartphone and Tablet memory card range include capacities of 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. For more information, visit the product page.

Not many phones or tablets support a memory card so big.

Any phone/tablet that supports SDXC will also support this.

Perfect timing for phones to stop supporting them altogether!

I jest, i know that the s7 and g5 support SD cards. It seemed for awhile though that sd cards were going the way of the dodo.

i know that the s7
ummm negative, micro sd cards only not regular sd cards. I have an s7 edge and my wife has the s7 both took 64gb micro sd cards nicely.
