ASUS introduced its fifth GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card, the GTX 1070 DUAL (model: DUAL-GTX1070-O8G). This card mates a custom-design PCB by ASUS with dual-fan (though not DirectCU II) cooling solution. This cooler features a cooler shroud that has the same design language as some of ASUS' mainline X99 II and Z170 series motherboards. The cooler features a pair of wing-blade fans that have low noise footprint. The card offers factory-overclocked speeds of 1582 MHz core, 1771 MHz GPU Boost, and an untouched 8.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective) memory. The card draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. Display outputs include three DisplayPorts 1.4 and an HDMI 2.0b.

Oh... DUAL refers to the number of fans :(

Well, at least it has a nice white shroud. I like this one visually a lot more than the others.

Look! NO LEDS!! :p

But what does the back plate look like, that's the main bit people see once the card is installed.

It doesn't come with a backplate....

I think I just got clickbaited.... :banghead::banghead:

DUAL Fans

Thanks for getting my hopes up Asus XD
I was hoping for a custom dual GPU like the good ole days.

Oh well, looks like a similar cooler that's on my 950. Good cooler and color of nothing else.

great white, in short time it would looks dirtier

Y'all need to remember its the Aries/Mars series of cards that are the dual-GPU/single PCB cards, then again ASUS sucks at names.

So Aries or Mars= DUAL.
DUAL= One.

I got it! :clap:

good guy asus, makes new hardware on 2016, with no leds nor RGB craps....
:rockout:

Click bait title. I also thought it was a Dual GPU solution, not dual FAN. Ugh...

Click bait as others said, which it needed to be as that plastic crap looks cheap'n'nasty.

nice white themed GTX 1070 finally a highend card for a white build if u want to do air, and there will be a backplate otherwise Asus would hear a lot of complains i think bcs it's stock for even the FE to have one.

No backplate:

Also @GreiverBlade his MSI Armor GTX1070 does not have a backplate either.

Damn that's a shame but good we have Coldzero than that makes custom backplates they also have for the Armor version and I think they will make for this one too.

I love those cards, but not as much as Powercolors Devil 13 cards.

When the GTX1070 came out I really hoped the MSI GTX1070 Gaming X had a backplate which it had (the MSI GTX970 didn't), otherwise I might have gone with Asus.

Manufacturers make too many product which have the same GPU, VRAM, number of fans but different plastic that comes with it.

For a "second" there I tought its a dual GP104 graphics card , it just cant be that ,ahh but there's 2 fans on the heatsink hence the "DUAL".
I drifted imagining it was actualy a dual chip on pcb video graphics card accelerator SLI'D with the1st gpu having accses to 8gigabytes withe the second gpu beeing there as the other muscle , even if the latter gpu only had accses to a lesser amount of RAM, just
egnough.

There's different PCB designs, one with less phases and with more, some need 2 power connectors where others need 1 plus some have a backplate and some don't.

Double post:device startet acting up after amount of characters.
While the whole thing was underclocked compared to lonesome gp104, yet ready for proper watercooling loop, "unleashing the hounds". ''my two pints''

K but you fail to see why they make so many versions of the same card. Not everyone wants that card made for LN2 and maybe someone wants "weaker" one to save money and heat made. They make those versions to cater to different consumers. I'm pretty sure if each manufacturer had only one card each it would be based on build quality and customer service in the end.
