AMD Partners with Firaxis on Civilization VI Development

I haven't looked it from that angle, but you are totally right. I still find the idea of a separate physix card pretty awesome. I suppose there is no going back, but if they do it will be really nice.

Physx on GPU isn't needed. Nvidia gimped the CPU ver to make it look attractive. It's all a scam and now no one uses physx b/c nvidia finished it off being asshats.

I thought this was already covered here a week ago....i need to find the thread. There are actually a large number of games using Phys-X.

Edit: Found it all the way back on June 30th I believe: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_hardware-accelerated_PhysX_support
Only 2 games have used PhysX in 2016. 4 in 2015. I don't think frequency like this should be called large. Frequency of games using async compute is higher and I don't like calling it large, yet.

Yeah, PhysX is pretty much dead. I was thinking about replacing my GT430 with a 600 or 700 series but seeing that there are almost no new games coming I didn't bother with Physx anymore.

I didn't really say anything about frequency. I merely cited the number in totale.

the game looks like it can be run on a cell phone... why does it matter which graphics card partner joined up with them

Always loved the civ games. :)
