Sharkoon Announces the Shark Zone M50 Gaming Mouse

Sharkoon expands its range of peripherals and introduces a programmable mouse for gamers, which is also suitable for left-handers thanks to its symmetrical design. The Sharkoon SHARK ZONE M50 Gaming Laser Mouse, with the typical yellow cable, offers subtle yellow LED lighting and technical advantages for gamers: Avago ADNS-9800 sensor with up to 8,200 DPI plus a polling rate of 1,000 Hz and a lift-off distance from one to five millimeters. Interchangeable side panels offer individual customization for best grip and ergonomics. Omron switches in the left and right mouse buttons ensure longevity, five mouse feet offer outstanding gliding performance, and the brushed aluminium alloy bottom ensures both stability and durability. The M50 has seven total buttons, all of which are programmable, plus a precision scroll wheel. The laser mouse connects via its textile braided, yellow cable with gold-plated USB plug.

The included gaming software allows adjustments to the DPI steps, polling rate, double-click and scroll speed, angle snapping and axis sensitivity. In addition, macros can be conveniently programmed, for example, for difficult key combinations for gaming or repetitive office work. Complete gaming profiles can easily be saved in the onboard memory of the M50. Thus, even complex key sequences, including delays and mouse clicks, can be easily executed. Thanks to its internal memory, no settings are lost within the extensive gaming software.

9800 is a notoriously bad sensor (inconsistent prediction baked in SROM), +135g = no interest from me

Really want a 336*, less than 105g in this form factor

Source? I couldn't find one

My understanding is that it is coded into the SROM, which firmware has no effect on (and would be manufacturer dependent)

Yeah my Corsair M65 has the 9800 and I hate it. Getting a M45 soon for the PIXART optical sensor. Only thing I like about the M65 is the shape and feel. I have pretty big hands, and I was looking at the logitech G502, but my roommate has it and its just way to narrow.

Corsair's firmware update doesnt work on my mouse either. For whatever reason.

DO NOT get the Corsair M45. It has an automatic DPI switching bug that Corsair never cared to fix. Not all implementations of 3310 are good.

Source : I have owned Razer DeathAdder 3.5, Steelseries Kana CS:GO Edition, Steelseries Diablo 3 Edition, Corsair M45, Razer DeathAdder 2013, Razer DeathAdder Chroma and Ducky Secret in that very order.

This looks like a manufacturer's firmware update, which does not effect the SROM, and many users seem to report acceleration with the 9800 well into 2015/2016, which my own experience would verify, but I'd love to see some tests!

The M65 Pro just came out with 3360 - if that's the shape you like, that's the mouse you want.
