i have this ancient compaq ipaq desktop pc with Linux and i of course got rid of its terrible case so now the mother board sit on a desk (lol its now LITERALLY a desktop pc) but that's not the problem its power supply has taken really REALLY good hits and the fan grill welds got destroyed so now its missing that and cords and wires get stuck in it and i come home one day and the room smells like burnt electronics. at first i thought it was my light because it decided it wanted to arc that day and yes i said ARC and also after sniffing around i end up with my face at my desk just looking and the im like oh s*** there's a cord in my power supply fan and guess what the rest of the supply is fine... and pc is still on and i remove the cord and this thing is hot +the fan and it just goes slowly faster and it sounds terrible usually it would be just a quick start but it was just really weird and that fan if you stick your finger in there it will just keep on pushing instead of a on off cycle. but it still can cool should i replace the fan or power supply.

(sorry for all the extra stuff)

To be on the safe side, I'd change it anyway. If it is some model of a very well known PSU brand, maybe take your chances, though I would not.

The problem with giving opinions on things like mice and keyboards (and to some extent, monitors too) is they are very opinionated - as they should be. My mouse and keyboard are extensions of MY hands, not yours. What feels perfect in my hands may feel totally awkward, too stiff, too soft, or just wrong in your hands.

We can comment on things like reliability or ease of customization and setup. But be beyond that, you really need to visit a computer store and play touchy-feely with the device yourself.
