PowerColor Announces the Radeon RX 480 RED DEVIL

When Asus starts releasing video cards worth buying again let me know. I base nothing off of strix cards because I have never seen one lead the overclock boards. Typical Asus product of late lowest bin chip with a hefty price premium.
I was just pricing some cards and saw up to a $200 premium just for their name, compared to Gigabyte for the exact same card.

480 8GB for me, mainly because I need freesync and we still need AMD around. If it wasn't for the 480 the 1060 would have cost quite a lot more..

I really want one.

Then run right out and stand in line for the 1060s to be available..... make sure to take lots of Nvidia reading material about how great it will be, take lots of water and food, and make sure to have a toilet close by for when you finally are so full of "it" that you don't explode and die before you are able to run back when you finally have one to tell us how great it is.

Meanwhile, 480's are available, sure some are priced stupid by sellers trying to gouge.. but no worse than Fanboy Editions.

They are readily avaliable where I live. A quick look at one retailer shows they habe close to 200 units in stock, with several hundred more coming next week. No RX 480 in stock.

There have been reports of performance increases from undervolted RX 480s:

"Being able to get a small performance boost while lowering the power consumption and heat levels was pretty nice and it’s something you might want to try out if you happen to have an AMD Radeon RX 480 graphics card. It’s easy to geek out and enjoy seeing performance go up in benchmarks while seeing double digit Wattage drops at the wall!"

That's interesting read. This means the Polaris will benefit greatly from a beefier cooler, which will allow higher clocks without throttling and the Red Devil from Powercolor certainly has such a cooler.

looks like a 290VaporX

That's really ironic coming from your account, honestly.

I consider myself as and old dude here on the site; I've been reading everything the last 5-6 years or so, its just within the last year an overwheelmingly amount of BS have poured all over this forum (It used to be friendly and people went just winging their comments and could elaborate they actual claims instead of spewing the usual "NVIDIA=masterrace AMD=supersh**! F***yea111". You can see that half the people posting just throws accusations that they think is popular or just troll (because they are straight-up wrong and have no source or argument behind it. +You can clearly see that I do not troll so I dont think its ironic. I want to discuss hardware with actual arguments and people who either know what they talk about or with people who are willing to admit that they dont know everything.

I don't know, we have some really smart posters here as of late. It's the one-post/low-post wonders that seem to be the worst fanboys.

I just like to discuss with likeminded that have different perspectives so I can learn something! I know alot, but im pretty sure I can find people here that know tons about stuff that i didnt even knew. Then novice hardware entusiasts can ask / learn or come with their argument. Utopia! :D

Fair enough. I hope for utopia too... but you know how that goes... :D
