I am considering one of these just because i can imagine how well it will do with VR

On average, at 3840x2160, it?s almost 29% faster than GeForce GTX 1080, which was already 34% faster than GTX 980 Ti at the same resolution.

Whereas GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition hit the scene for $700, or just above the 980 Ti?s launch price, you?ll pay a 70%+ premium for Titan X?s extra speed. Forget the value calculation?that word has no place here.

I read that toms' review, and I was stunned by how they dive into Pascal and GP102.

It's like they're looking at their first GPU or something, the way they wrote that. 'Incredibly complex' etc. etc. while its just Maxwell v2 and for 1200 bucks still has 2 SMs disabled.

Well, lets look it this way. R9 Fury X goes well against even GTX 1070 in DX12 and Vulcan games. Meaning Vega can't be just tiny bit faster than Fury X, because then no one would buy it. Unless if it was significantly cheaper while also a bit faster. Now, granted, DX12 and Vulcan is a very limited range of games for the moment, but how many games are really unplayable on Fury X in DX11/OpenGL? Even Fury X users are very much future proof despite being last gen. Now, combine Fiji core with Polaris efficiency and GCN 4.0 (there are even rumors about GCN 5.0), I think Vega will be a nice GPU. Even if it's not king of the hill.

If it can clock anywhere close to 1080X's max clocks then it would be devastatingly fast under water.

They managed 1900 MHz with the reference cooler. Guess there's plenty of headroom left when put under water.

I went through tomshardware review real quick....a couple of the pages are almost all advertising and a pain to scroll through to just catch some info from. I like it here better, clean and neat. I'll happily wait for a TPU review to get an in depth review of the card.

From what I was able to gather, I don't see this new Titan X being worth the extreme price tag. If the price on the 1080 and 1070 were both $100 lower, put the Titan X at $999....they'd leave a nice spot of around $750 to drop in a 1080Ti. At least that's what I think would have been an ideal pricing scheme for the 10xx series.

I wonder how well the new Titan X will actually sell.

The first 4K-capable card IMO and it's out of arms reach...that's too bad. Hoping Vega comes out end of this year just as reports suggested so that we can have some competitive pricing between the 2 behemoths. I'm thinking a stock 1080ti would be just a sliver slower than the Titan, albeit having custom cooling options for OC out of the box. But I think the ti's are still far away from being released right? Probably Nvidia's answer to Vega.

No you can only crossfire 2 480s ,and 3 wouldn't beat this I don't think ,nice card this titan ,too dear and it's more importantly already off the shelves ,I wonder how many shipped.
