Currently, I play without Galaxy at all - I start the game from .EXE. Game is not updated to 1.31 (1.4GB+3.9GB) because I'm not logged into my account

So your'e still getting frame drops without Galaxy? Ok there went my idea. :(

I'm running 372.70 driver. Newest one.

With Vsync OFF and frame limiter set to unlimited, there is more FPS but drops... still there.

I sent support request to CDPR and GOG. maybe this is known issue with this version...

I got curious since I have the same GPU, installed new driver (372.70), and start a new game (this is the first time I played the 1.30 version of the game).
No noticable FPS drop or stutter in White Orchard. I run the game mostly at Ultra (NPC, Foliage, and Shadow Detail at High), Hairworks OFF, and I use HBAO+. I even a little bit surprised when I see there's no FPS drop when I run straight from the bridge near the village marker to the dwarf armorer's house.

I suggest you to finish downloading the updates, then try to play the game in Medium preset. If the stuttering and FPS drop still occurs then try to run the game with minimal background application (no browser running in the background, no GOG Galaxy, etc.) and monitor the GPU activity with Afterburner of GPU-Z, as far as I know you have yet mentioned anything about GPU activity (GPU usage, GPU clock, temperature, VRAM usage).

I'm going to reinstall the game - but this time I will use backup copy downloaded from GOG, not DVD.

GPU temps are OK - below 70C
Usage is 100% most the time.

Hello again TPU.

As I said yesterday, I reinstalled the whole game via backup copy downloaded from GOG. The version of game is now 1.31 from the beginning, but unfortunately - problem with drops still exist.

These drops are only in village - I completed all quests etc and there were not similar problems in any other location.

Nope... I didn't.

But there is some very strange thing: Actually I'm in Bloody Baron's "village" and there is some FPS drops/visible stuttering. But when I ALT+TAB game a couple of times, then I have solid 60 FPS. What the...?

EDIT: I tried to:
1. Disable Vsync completely.
2. Set Adaptive Vsync in Nvidia Control Panel
3. Force Vsync in Nvidia Control Panel

Above methods doesnt't work

But... When I disabled Vsync in game and set framelimiter in game to 60 there seems to be no problem.

EDIT 2: And you know what? I loaded savegame from White Orchard village and guess what happened after I hit ALT+TAB couple of times - ZERO drops. Solid 60 FPS.

EDIT 3: I set "Borderless window" mode in game... ZERO drops in White Orchard village from game's start. No need to ALT+TAB.

Could someone explain me why something like this happens? Why I have these drops in FullScreen mode?

during the game's early release (by durante/pc gamer), it was found that setting frame limiter to 29or 30/ 59 or 60 in RTSS, enable/disbable control panel vsync and running in borderless windowed fulscreen gives the smoothest frames and frametimes. It worked for me, except there are still minor spikes in novigrad for me, seeing the CPU hitting max usage on some occasions, couldn't be my drive loading since it was installed on my SSD and i doubt it would be any different when installed on HDD (i just like the faster loading times)

Regarding alt+tab, some users also experience smoother and more stable performance doing it, perhaps because resource allocation becomes more focused on the chosen application (hence when returning to game, priority becomes the game) or something like that, forgot what thread here it was.

Do you play in Full Screen or Borderless Windowed mode?

I had a humpback actually leave the water and splash back on its side, as well as the big tails coming out of the water. It's pretty cool.

Only 7 mill :(, well i hope this don't bleed in to the TW4, some games should stay sp and a good part of the reason they had s o much content in the game was due to no mp.

I'm pretty sure they said no more Witchers. They did all they want with the series.

If this does find its way into a game of theirs, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Cyberpunk 2077.

Well, either way they do top single player games and part of that is due to not having mp taking up all there time. MP brings so many headaches even more so fir 7 mill lol.

Odd ending i got them as it did not seem like the end lol.

I finally bought this in the Winter Sale today, played only two hours but enjoying it very much already! Everything on high and no hairworks gave me a consistent 60fps and the game looks as good as promised :D

I have never actually played a big RPG on pc before, so I'm really interested how all this will pan out.. One thing I can say is that if the game clicks with me I'm gonna spend a loooot of time on it; this early on there's already a TON of things to do :)

Good to hear you like it! Oh, and you can expect WELL over 100 hours if you like to experience the world and the hundreds of well-done side quests.
