I have no respect for Origin nor the Battle.net client at this stage; each one of them uses 9-10% of my CPU, which for a background app just to launch games to me is unacceptable. That is 1/5th of my CPU, no no and no. I no longer auto launch them with my system startup.
Something sounds fishy here. My system idles at 1% usage with origin/steam/galaxy running in the background. Sounds like you have a stuck origin or battle.net update. Or something wrong with your windows installation.

I see what you mean. It would be nice if GOG offered an app to manage everything you bought from them. Something like: https://www.gog.com/galaxy
And yes, one app to manage them all is what I want too. Not one app for Valve titles, one for EA, one for Ubisoft and so on.

Well Steam is for a lot more then just Valve titles.
And its because of steam's success others want in on that action, thats pretty much how it goes in every industry.
Ubisoft still offers everything fully through steam though, at the same its understandable that EA would want people to get on their platform.
Different companies, different strategies.

Hmm that does seem a bit much yeah, idk why you would have it set to auto launch in the first place though, unless you use your PC purely for gaming.
I will say that a year or more ago, Origin's build in livestreaming function was fantastic to me, way less stressful on the system then anything else, very surprising results.

I doubt it is my Windows installation; I did a clean install recently when I got my SSD. It's only Origin and Battle.net, I can have GoG Galaxy, Steam, Ubisoft clients open and those 3x alone would use maybe 1% together, but those other 2x? I see no reason it should use 20%

I use it for everything but primarily gaming.

It is a 20 Euro value bundle, must be the worse of its kind since bundling games with cards started. Basically you have to buy a card, the 60 Euro game and then you get some useless upgrade.

I know what Steam sells, I was just talking about a hypothetical world where you'd be forced to install an app from each publisher.
What Steam did was right (minus the DRM imho, but that's another topic). What I wouldn't like to happen is for Origin or UPlay to see the same success, because then every publisher will jump on that train leaving us with no choice.

Well dont have to really worry about that, there are barely any publishers big enough to pull something like this off and keep it exclusive forcing you to their platform.
Again, even Ubisoft still sells everything via Steam as well and EA, one of the biggest, actually does not have all that much to offer on Origin exclusively.
Battle.net is a different story though, lots of loyal fans there so that works for them, Activision/Blizzard could go separate entirely with battle.net making that the exclusive platform for their games.

Not now when there's no incentive. But that would change if Origin of UPlay took off.

Ok, they sell their titles through Steam. Does that mean you don't need an Origin or UPlay account to play them? Honest question, I don't have a Steam account.

Yes, I don't know why but I'm inclined to give battle.net a pass. In part because Blizzard titles are mostly online only and would require you to sign up anyway. In part because their persistence in requiring people to sign up and log in to play Diablo 3 has kept me from wasting money on that game.

Do you know titles where the beta sucked, but the released game was good?

Doom is a recent example IMO.

Doom is a recent example IMO.

Yet, I'm really blasé. It's a plain 'ol shooter with unimpressive graphics (texture res is very low so it could run on consoles, real waste of their work). The movement is weird feeling. It feels like input lag even though there isn't a lot.

Maybe if MP was good, but UT4 is becoming fleshed out and is free.

It's not as boring or as bad as Doom III (I think I lasted 30 mins before I deleted it lol), but I'm sure not excited when playing.

I'd recommend folks read this closely. It's just an upgrade code for standard to Deluxe, which only adds a few days early access. I think many people will be confused and will think this is the full game (like most prior vc game bundles from amd or NVidia) and that is not the case this time around. You still have to buy the full BF1 game which is not included. A few days early access is kind of silly, I can't see how that's worth more than a few dollars. Kind of misleading and tiny for a "game bundle". This is more like the kind of thing you'd see included in a magazine or marketed in a bag of Doritos.

You also get something like 5 battlepacks off the bat and a couple skin packs to get a leg up on others at the start. There's a little bit of value there, but not a lot, sure.

why people keep bashing Origin... I've used it for a couple years now never had an issue with it. I have Uplay, Steam, Battlenet, GOG, EpicGames never had any issues with all of them. If i can buy a cd key 3 times cheaper for Uplay than steam sign me up for it ..... :D why spend extra money just to play only on steam ?

The good thing about this bundle will be cheap BF1 cd key to buy ... to bad I pre-ordered mine already

There's no CD key here, just an upgrade code.

EA and Origin.

Disgraceful and rotten combination. No matter how nice it is, I'm going to play on my friends' PC and never give them money, not even a pence to them.

This is just as useless as nvidia's recent "buy an expensive GPU and we'll give you some completely useless paragon points in a game" offer. Battlefield 1 DDE only give a few useless extras to the standard edition and of course lets you play the game a few days earlier... Anyone with a brain (monkeys included) will see this is a super cheap attempt at exciting fanboys. now if they said buy a 480 and upgrade to ultimate edition (premium pass included) Now thats a deal

Gotta agree that this bundles look so weak to me. I think it was better if they sold the cards with no bundles at all. At least you sell a coupon for a game you don't want on ebay, but these aren't even worth the effort.
