It's the same physics engine correct? The lack of realism in the first was cringe worthy. Who jumps that far or has that kind of vertical lift?

LOL, Lara has always been super-human with her leaps and jumps. It's not a new thing, and despite the different graphics to make her more human, she's never been about realism either.

Never mind the uncharted magical island she is exploring while fighting ancient Japanese samurai zombies. Its her upper body strength that's not realistic.

Ah, see I felt it was her legs more than any thing - unless for some reason when you read 'vertical lift' you think of the upper body.

Odd, I went to the link provided, filtered results to Steam and it says the placemarker date of December 31, 2016.

I double-checked with my Amazon app and it shows the same thing.

The game is probably done or close to it; remember, the reason why they aren't releasing at the same time is because Microsoft demanded exclusivity in the publishing agreement.

Xbox 360/Xbox One = November 2015
PC = Q1 2016 (March 31 is the last day in the first quarter)
PS4 = Q4 2016 (December 31 is the last day in Q4)

Exclusivity is usually at least three months because that's when the bulk of the sales occur. Microsoft kicking the can way down the road for their competitor (Sony PS4) is also to be expected. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised with February for PC (3 months) and November for PS4 (1 year).

Unreleased TR Film Debuts On The Game's 20th Anniversary

Produced in 1998 by Silver Films for the Tomb Raider III launch party, The Trilogy was never screened outside the event at the Natural History Museum in London that evening. In the movie, a video gamer is interrogated by two police detectives who are skeptical of his claims about his "girlfriend" Lara Croft. He's treated as delusional until, of course, the twist ending.

Janey de Nordwall unearthed some old tapes recently and found this on one of them, turning it over to Square Enix, which put the video on YouTube this weekend.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Tomb Raider's first release, on Oct. 25, 1996. Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have more planned to celebrate the occasion throughout 2016.

Original Tomb Raider Pre-Alpha Footage Surfaces

This is essentially footage from 20 years ago, or maybe even more given.

According to fansite Planet Lara who released the footage, “This is the pre-alpha build of the original Tomb Raider. It’s not a level as such, rather a collection of vast chambers and chasms styled in what would later become the Vilcabamba level textures. It is believed that it was produced to give Eidos a preview of what the game engine was capable of. Lara was sporting her iconic braid, which was later removed as it added too many polygons to the game. Not only that, but Lara is also sporting her iconic sunglasses too! Other unique and interesting features included in the pre-alpha were the ability to dual aim – Lara is able to target two different enemies at once.

Another naming reference for "special edition" essentially because Tomb raider has been around for 20 years now so they're calling it 20 year anniversary which will come with load of extra goodies on top of existing "season pass" stuff all in one package.

not getting it either, if its like an "HD remake" of like the last couple of games though I am going to be seriously pissed about it. It seems like its starting to become a kind of trend. At first I understood the hype for HD FF7 and FF10 and I was like sure I get it they are old games. but then they started doing
